Hello & welcome to Inventureology Manor. About me: I am 35, I work from home, I am into all sorts of geek & nerd stuff, I started playing D&D in grade 9, loose battle sessions, and a game a friend ran for a few months at school, I was young then and didn't know what it takes to make a really compelling game for friends, but I made stuff and had fun, I stepped away from 4e all together, then about 6 years ago I came back from a hiatus from TTRPGs and got really deep into 5e, kinda dropped all hobbies for subjects that could relate to D&D, I participated in some streamed campaigns, and know allot about streaming in general, it helps that there are so many great resources and communities around, I had a DM who was so well put together that he was inspiring to me, he was stepping into PRO DMing and I had similar ambitions, so over the years I ran a few groups, did many modules, and got into design allot. I am into all sorts of weird music, I watch youtube videos & twitch, I like to watch some of the science based YouTube Videos, aside from that its mostly D&D on there, the rest of the time I am either doing life stuff or building upon a sandbox D&D environment for my games. The Adventure, The Story, The Plot! Each of the 4 games will be crafted using pre-gathered information from the player-character backstories, & player preferences, or as a group we decide upon a pre-made together. I do a session 0.5(private to each player & their characters) and I gather information so that I can bring in themes or elements that everyone is looking for, clearly not every session is going to be tailored like some theme around you, there are 6 people's worth of info to consider. The Tools I use; I have a 20gb music library of stream safe lyric-less music for theming scenes & events. I use sound effects from 2 separate sound-boards, I found a discord soundboard I make available to players which is customizable, I make ALL of my own maps they take a long time but I treasure making them its allot of fun for me, I have a large image library to help give some scenes visuals I will show through Roll20, I can voice act but I also own a voice mod program for some extra options, during each session I do a mini game at the start, I have a few for variety. Each session I do a recap of the previous session right before we begin. I maintain a Discord server which is private to each group, and a main chat hub, in the discord it is built to include some small games, things that could be teambuilding, some private 1 on 1 channels for communication about the game & your character, some info dump channels, it is my goal for the group to be like our little club, wile streaming everyone will have character art, and it will light up when you speak, so on video the voices are relatable to your character image, I am not sure 100% how I am going to handle cameras, I know in some situations like if the party was on a social intrigue kindof thing that its nice to see facial expressions(I am still considering the format visually for the stream) though I do like the light up character picture idea. I have a few Discord bots I use for fun and management, including a "crystal ball" which you get a generated image based on what you describe to it, we have a living book(ChatGPT) channel. Communication: -The day before our session, so for the Tuesday group on Monday night, I will be posting updates to the discord specific for that group, sometimes it is a reminder about rules, or a reminder about the schedule, I will address rules specifics(sometimes I don't know a rule 100% and looking it up would be a pain, so I decide on something for the moment, and do the research after the session to keep things flowing) any necessary announcements. -for in depth chat I am most easily reached the day of the session in the Discord server, I am around all day, I am often working on things for the session the day of the session, reviewing the previous session's video, and preparing any shenanigans. -Immediately before & after the session I have streaming duties, I have to check settings, do a test run of things, and begin a starting timer video, as well as raid out to another stream at the end, I spend like 10 minutes in the other stream, I can answer things or chat afterwards! Rules: I am a stickler with RaW rules, even though I do include personal home brew which I am transparent about, and allow homebrew(I am going to need to approve, if I don't like how it balances compared to other stuff, I can custom modify it to the point where it is balanced) There are a few extra rules about streaming, During the session 0 I will cover many rules, some will see obvious, some may not be so obvious, and it is important for all of us to know and cover the session 0 topics, I don't charge for a session 0 or 0.5. Schedule: I am hoping to begin the first week of January. Tues/Wed/Thurs/Fri 7PM-12:00Midnight EST, weekly Each session is broken into chunks, on average we play 4 hours of game time. At the start there is 10-15 minutes of pre-game stuff, 2 hours playing, 30 minute half time(though if we are ready early we mite continue early) 2 hours of playing, and 15 or so minutes of a wrapup during the end-credits of the video. The session in posted to youtube the next day.
