Dynamic lighting amount limits

I've been working on a large scale map for my players and I noticed that when I create new dynamic lighting it does not work. Does anyone know if there is a finite amount of barrier one can place or?

Hi Irishavel25! AFAIK, there is no numerical limit. There might be a complexity limit. Are you drawing your barriers with the freehand tool, for instance? Can you give a more detailed description about what is not working or how it is not working? Screenshots might help, as well.

Hi Irishaxel25,  What size is your map?  There is no hard limit, it is dependent upon your machine and your player's machines.
In my experience highly complex maps with light sources start to get jiggy after about 50x50.
I can second this. I've created maps with dynamic lighting up to 90x90 5 ft. grid squares, but only using daylight mode (for outdoors) or with very few light sources other than what the player tokens carry (lanterns, etc.). The more light sources you have, the more calculations are needed to process the sight lines. al e. said: In my experience highly complex maps with light sources start to get jiggy after about 50x50.

Yes. In general, the larger the map, the less I try to demand from DL. On extremely large maps, I might even just opt for Fog of War.
