The Spiel Welcome to Unknown Lands , a realm shrouded in darkness and terror.  Unknown Lands (UL) is a Westmarch-style campaign where players navigate a world teeming with lurking horrors, eerie landscapes, and the ever-present threat of madness. Our campaign is currently in progress, and we are looking to bolster our ranks with brave adventurers! Currently, our adventurers are only on week #3, so there’s plenty of opportunity to make your mark. Your City  Haven*  was ripped out of existence, and plopped somewhere completely new. Nothing is really known about this new realm, and the dangers of this world cannot be overstated. Haven has come to rely on groups of adventurers to undertake quests and explore this world. UL has players taking on the roles of "Heroes" from a variety of factions. Factions who are not always striving towards the same goal, and who will often be given "Hidden Objectives" by their factions when they depart. As someone who was heavily inspired by Fable as a kid, I use the term "Hero" VERY lightly. Just means you are a cut above the rest.  The factions add an extra layer to the player characters. Most give buffs that some people may consider "game-breaking" in a normal campaign, but put you on par with the dangers of this world. I encourage a whole lot of experimentation, and allow all sorts of pre-approved homebrew stuff from other creators. As the weeks come and go, quests will as well. The Adventurers Inn has all sorts gather for a common goal. The Questing Board will fill up every in-game week with all sorts of Rumors/Info of Note/ and of course quests. As the weeks go by, all of these things advance. Only a certain number of quests may be undertaken each in-game week, and it is up to the parties that depart to determine what takes priority. Completing quests and such is important, but equally important is how they are completed. Another Faction mechanic is whether or not your factions is allowed "Faction Stealth." A mechanic which allows the seedier factions to lie about which groups interests they represent. Just something to keep in mind as I do believe you should know going in that you may not always be on the same team when it comes to the end result of something.  When players return from quests and such they will have to decide between a variety of downtime activities. Your downtime action can be a whole slew of things ranging from improving your character, resting to be better fit for the next outing, healing your body(and maybe mind) from any grievous damage you may have taken, or maybe spending some of your spoils and managing projects around the city that help improve Haven for future weeks. The details of when we run each session "Typically" we run sessions on Sundays at 6pm PST. I say that typically the sessions are scheduled, but given the flexible nature of our campaign, if enough of us are looking for an adventure and I’m up for running a game, we can gather a party and dive into a quest on the spot. Requirements I'd like from you -You will need Discord, please use push to talk -Do not be a jerk, given the sometimes at-odds natures of factions I feel like this could occur unintentionally sometimes. So please just make an effort to make games enjoyable for the rest of the table. A good story and fun time is what we are after at the end of the day. -Not a requirement, but I HEAVILY recommend that you be in the mood to make numerous characters. Your characters are not time-travelers and cannot be on multiple quests at the same time. -Not much else, We have intro'ed all sorts of RP nubs with an older iteration of this campaign so very beginner friendly......if you don't mind some bit of game difficulty.   -Not really a limit to people we are looking for. Invitations will be sent out per week, and people who respond 1st take priority for the party that is assembled that week.  Feel free to reach out if you’re interested in joining! Whether for a one-shot or a longer commitment, we’d love to have you. Contact me via PM here or on Discord at CannibalToast. Whatever floats your boat. *(I thought I was so clever when I thought of this name in our 1st iteration of UL in 2015....ooo boy O.o) (1st Roll20 posting, so apologies for...Over describing? Under describing? Ionno you tell me, big shrug) Questions? And scene
