D&D 5e by Roll20 - Slow loading of sheets with large spell list

I originally posted this as a reply on a different thread: ... Character sheets are loading incredibly slowly, even if they'd already been accessed once (lazy-loading?). Everything is running dead slow. I was just in my game tweaking some things, but if we were playing today I'd have to cancel. If no one else is experiencing this, then it may be an issue with my specific game. It's not happening in a game where I'm a player, and in my game it looks like it depends on how large a spell list an PC  or NPC has; the more spells on their list, the longer it takes to pull up the sheet. This behavior has been typicval lately, bu it's especially bad today ... although it seems to have improved slightly from this morning. Jeff L.  said: We're having trouble confirming any issue with loading character sheets or other performance issues.  Could you open a Help Center ticket or a separate thread for this?  Hopefully that will help us get to the bottom of this issue, as well.

Hi Rick A.,  While the Devs are investigating this, I suggest popping out any character when you load it. That way it doesn't take longer to load every time you need to re-open the sheet (since it is not loading again).  With that said, could you send me an invite to your game so I can check a sample character sheet? Compare loading time results with you? Might see if it is a widespread or local issue.

Popping out or minimizing the sheets will work for the players while playing, but can get cumbersome for the DM :). Although I use token actions for most NPCs, I'm still often opening and closing sheets to look up things on their bios or not included in the token actions (often due to overzealous editing on my part). Also, when designing encounters I often need to check things on different player's sheets.

Popping characters out is usually how I operate, I can have a ton of them popped out that way.  Then I can open characters via their tokens, popped out they are opened very quickly.
Well, as of today, my slow loading issue has gone away. All character sheets are now loading as quickly as ever.
