Separate D&D 5e and D&D 5.5e

So with the release of D&D 5.5e (or as WOTC call it D&D 2024) I'm wondering if the two systems are going to be separated in the Compendium and LFG/LFP Search, as the two systems have vastly different character creation, such as Backgrounds now containing ASIs instead of Races, and classes getting their abilities at different levels, along with different Rules, Feats, Spells and a variety of changes to existing 5e content. I believe that separating these two systems apart would be good and would avoid confusion with new players, who if looking for a game in either system, may be confused if they accidently join/apply for a game which is using the other ruleset, one they may not have learned, and would avoid annoyance with older players who when joining/listing games of one system would be greeted with the surprise that instead they are playing/hosting the other system, and their feats/abilities/spells don't work the same way as they planned/wanted them to. Overall I think it would just be a lot neater to separate out 5e and 5.5e to both have their own separate character sheets (which they already have), and have their content be contained under different entries in the Compendium and LFG/LFP Search, to avoid confusion of new players and old, and generally improve the quality of life and provide clarity when searching for a game, rule or other content in either system.

Hi Furr,  You might have a misunderstanding of the D&D 5e (2024) sheet, it is not going to be "separate" from the 2014 rules, both rulesets will function on the sheet.  If you wish to separate the two rulesets you can do that as a GM by enabling some books and disabling others.  The stated intent of WotC and how Roll20 is implementing it is for both versions to co-exist in the same game.
Hi Gauss, Thank you for proving my point about 5e and 5.5e changes causing confusion, my post is requesting that the Compendium and Looking for Players and Looking for Game sections/dropdowns (where you select the game you are hosting) be divided as 5e and 5.5e into seperate categories, due to the fact that according to all media, UA and reviews we have seen as players, both sets of rules, feats, spells and other content do not work/mesh together in the same game, which is why I am making the sugesting for the two editions to not be messily jammed in together under one title in Roll20 - unless you happen to have access to a copy of the 5.5e players handbook already which has some radical changes and proves they do work together.

Regarding Compendium this will already be possible. Simply enable the 2014 OR the 2024 books, not both.  Regarding the LFG tool, I see your point about listing them separately.

Up-voted It would probably better to form three new categories instead of two, since despite what many media sources are saying, WOTC has all along been claiming that the new 2024 version of D&D will be completely backwards compatible with the 2014 version. We'll need categories for D&D 2014, D&D 2024 and Hybrid D&D 2014/2024.
