Hai hai, As the title implies I'm someone who kind of just ended up being a DM due to circumstance and haven't really gotten to be a player since. So I'm looking for any groups to join to scratch that player itch. Few short things about me: Name: Soso (Pronounced Sozo) Age: 26 Pronouns: Any. People have kind of always struggled and just fired their shot, so I got used to it. Just use whatever feels natural at the time. Mandatory D&D experience: I started playing D&D with 5e in the early 2010s. Friend of mine invited me to a game that was struggling to be filled and I thought why not. Fast forward a couple months and I absolutely loved it. Sadly our DM just up and vanished halfway through and everyone wanted to continue. We all agreed to keep going with one of us as the new DM, and somehow I ended up being elected. I've been DMing for the group ever since. With a collection of short(ish) 1 year campaigns. All homebrew after I had a shower thought and put a doc together. As of last year I discovered roll20 and have been dabbling in it. All previous games were either run in person or purely on discord and skype. I've never played any premade modules mainly due to the reason that I didn't feel entirely comfortable narrating someone else's story. But I'd be open to play in one. I enjoy all 3 branches of D&D equally, moreso I focus on just having a good time. I very much so lean towards comedy when in parties. Often doing things cause they're funny or strange. "If it's stupid but it works" is very much so a saying I live by, as far as RP is concerned. Schedule: My timezone is GMT -3 (Brazil). I'm free any time during weekends, though family matters might come up. In which case I'll let you know ahead of time. I'm currently training to be a flight attendant and I have classes during weekdays. The schedule changes from week to week, but a safe rule of thumb is I'm free after 14:00 my time. That being said weekends would be far more consistent. Character Ideas: The reason I'm posting this is I've had (another) shower thought and I wanted to RP it. It would be homebrew to some degree, but it's basically just a slight alteration to the current Longtooth Shifter race. A Direwolf, whom after snacking on an unfortunate traveler, gets a cursed ring of polymorph lodged on one of its fangs. The direwolf polymorphs into a human and is unable to transform back. Due to the position of the ring and its cursed nature, their fangs stay elongated so the ring doesn't come off. The wolf is understandably confused and panics, drawing the attention of a scouting party of adventurers. After finding the human wolf, the party sees signs of the struggle, finding the desecrated belongings of the traveler the wolf had eaten. And a naked, injured human. They assume they were attacked by a wolf and move in to rescue and care for the stranger, who reacts violently and wildly. They subdue the stranger with magic, assuming they might've just been scared, traumatized or perhaps gone crazy all together; and, after some deliberation, drop them off at a nearby village's healer. They take the traveler's belongings assuming it belongs the human wolf and drop it off with them at the healer. TLDR: Wolf transforms into human from cursed ring. Is mistaken for a human. Very confused. Will act out of hunger and a need to feed to begin with. Learning as it goes along the campaign to communicate with others. They'd be purely food motivated to start with, perhaps that's how they meet the party, rummaging through their rubbish. As the adventure progresses the relationship might evolve to that of a pack, and eventually companions and friends as the wolf learns with its new human brain. Mechanically speaking these are the changes/homebrew I suggest: Take the same baseline attributes of a Direwolf, -1 CON. This alligns with the stat distribution of a Longtooth Shifter. Replace the darkvision of shifters for the Direwolf's keen sense of smell and hearing. Remove the Shifter's shifting bonus action, and instead just have a permanent bite attack with the same attributes (1d6 proficient unnarmed piercing + STR) Standard medium creature 30ft movement and default 10AC while unarmored. Same proficiency pool as a standard Longtooth Shifter. No starting languages. Starting equipment will be standard as it can easily be argued that the traveler that got munched was that class. Bonus info: I have ADHD so ummmm, very chatty and overly explain things (if you hadn't noticed). Regardless, just wanted to give a heads up before I end up rambling in private messages.
