Odyssey of the Dragonlords is heavily inspired by stories from ancient Greek mythology. It includes ideas from many different sources: The Odyssey, The Iliad, Jason and the Argonauts, The Oresteia, and others. However, Thylea is not ancient Greece. You will not find Zeus, Athena, or Apollo among the gods. As you explore Thylea, you will encounter familiar tropes, monsters, and treasures from Greek mythology—but the rules are different here. Mortals have only recently come to these lands. The world of Thylea blends high fantasy with the trappings of ancient history. Elves, dwarves, and halflings now live alongside minotaurs, centaurs, and satyrs. The goal is to make your party feel like heroes from one of the greatest stories ever told—but the ultimate end of that story is entirely within your power. Players will make choices that forever change the world of Thylea. As the gamemaster, we encourage you to embrace this idea and run with it. How will you reshape history—and what does it mean to be a hero? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi gang! We have lost a very long-term teammate due to conflict in their new work schedule so we decided we would try and recruit a couple more people in the mix. This D&D 5E campaign will run to level 20 using the 2014 rules. We are currently level 4 and have been playing this campaign for 1.5 months on a constant weekly basis every Friday evening. We currently have a human druid of sacrifice, a new class from the campaign, a human hexblade warlock/bard and a Plasmoid war magic wizard. All official races and classes are welcome, multiclassing is accepted, no homebrew. Stats are 5D6 and drop lowest 2! Ya, you're gunna be epic right from the start! That's the theme this campaign is going for. You also get a free feat at lvl 1 too! We play on an average of 6 hours each week, possibly looking to even play on Saturday evenings as well, but only if we all are free, definitely not mandatory.  As you can tell, we LOVE playing D&D. We are all over 40 yrs of age and we have been playing together for many years now through multiple official modules and are hoping to find more like-minded people to join us in this new 3rd party campaign. We are giving our regular GM a break as I GM for the first time since I was a child. We have 2 long term GM's in the group as players which help clarify any rules to help us stick with a constant rule set as close to RAW as we can get with only a few minor homebrew rules. We lean heavily on combat and exploration but enjoy breaks with RP to get into character and have some fun. We like to joke around but play serious game when it comes down to it. If this sound fun to you, apply by sending me a message with what kind of character you would like to play and as much information about yourself as you wish to divulge. The more you give the better feel we will have for you in our decision to bring you aboard.  We look forward to seeing you!
