Play on a kom pute err, you say?

Hi all. When it comes to playing online, I'm akin to an unfrozen caveman lawyer. I played one game a year ago, and it was a disaster. The DM and the other players were all VTT veterans, and they understandably were frustrated with my bumbling efforts to use the tools and seemed unable to give me any guidance. I have decided to give it another go, but on my own terms this time, by reffing a one on one game with a friend so that we can learn the system together. If I buy the D&D 2024 bundle, will that enable me to DM a game, or do I have to buy a license as well? Thank you kindly, and may your dice be ever loyal.

You can DM a game for free, you don't need to buy anything.
There are also lots of videos on YouTube that give tutorials on how to use Roll20's VTT. The YouTube creator called  Crashgem has a set of dated, but still useful tutorials.
