Can't update Night Vision tint on Jumpgate

I've been having a reoccurring issue where I can't update my game's night vision tint. I had it set to black, but my players found that disruptive, so I've been trying to set it back to transparent. I've tried updating it in my game settings, but after clicking save changes it just reverts back to a black tint. I've tried manually editing my player's tokens and clicking the update default token button, but it still reverts back to the black tint.

Hi Jude C.,  Have you applied the game settings in the game?  To do so go to the My Settings tab (top right corner).  Then Miscellaneous Then Apply Default Settings Checkmark the desired setting to update.  Click Apply and WAIT for the nearly invisible bar to complete.  Note: this will only update tokens on pages that you have opened during the current session.  I suggest opening 5 pages, performing the update, refresh, open 5 new pages, perform the update, refresh. Repeat until the pages are completed.

The issue isn't that I can't apply my default settings, it's that my default game setting for night vision tint color is stuck on black. While I can manually change a token's tint setting to transparent, I can't update the token's sheet with the new change. It just reverts back to the black tint. That means whenever my players need to place their token down on a new page, their night vision tint color is back to black.

Ahhh, I see what you mean, confirmed.  I suggest informing the Devs of this bug by filing a bug report via the Help Center .  Reproduction:  Go to the Campaign Settings page (Roll20.net, click the name of the game, click Settings, click Game Settings) Click on Game Default Settings Click on Dynamic Lighting Enable Token Vision Enable Night Vision Change Tint Color to Transparent Save Defaults Save Changes Check the result, the Tint Color is now Black.  Repeat the steps, same result.
Yup, that's the exact problem. And the issue continues after I enter the game too. I haven't tried this on a non Jumpgate game so I don't know if it's specifically an issue with that type of game.

In the meantime, could you walk me through the process you are using to update the token and the character?  I'd like to see if I can at least get your player's tokens operational.

Yeah. I can deal with the monsters night vision being tinted, as annoying as that is, but some of my players have issues seeing the area revealed by night vision. Reproduction: Drag player token from journal onto map Open token settings for that specific token by double clicking Click on Dynamic Lighting tab Change Dark Vision tint color from black to transparent Click save settings Check player view for that token with CTRL-L The Dark Vision tint is transparent Open up token settings again Click on the Details tab Click on Update Default token Button Drag another copy of that player's token from journal New token has reverted back to Black tint color Repeat, same result

What happens when you use the Character Sheet's "Use Selected Token" instead?
Same result. I even tried deleting the default token.

Could you PM me an invite to your game? I'd like to see if I can fix it up for you.
Hi, i've got the same problem here... Nothing works with dynamic light
Here's a temporary work around, courtesy of Gauss. Do note that this apparently only works in Jumpgate, although feel free to test it in a legacy game. Open the character sheet Click Edit Click Edit Token Properties Click the Dynamic Lighting tab Click Tint Color box Select the grey next to the white (top row, 2nd from the right) Add "FF" (without quotes) to the end of the hex code at the bottom [you have to click the Tint Color box twice. Once to select the grey, once to add FF to the code] Hit Enter Save settings Save Changes Drag from journal to confirm
I've been having this same issue since February of this year. The last ticket that I posted about it was # 203202  but never got a resolution.  I've found that the only way that I can change a character's nightvision tint color from "black" is by: Dragging the token to the map Opening it's token settings Changing the nighvison tint through that menu Then open the character sheet Select "Edit" on the character sheet Select the  token on the map On the character sheet "Edit" menu, select "Use selected token"

Yikes! I'll try the process described by Juds C. the next time this happens. I'd much rather that the devs fixed the actual bug, but I realize that their plates are a bit full these days. Gauss   This process is no longer working. In testing last night it reverted to black.

In Jumpgate it does not.
