Handout 'Show to Players' into 'Show to X Player or Players'

Sort of like moving the players around maps, I'd really like the option on my handouts instead of just Show to Players (which shows it to the whole table) to show it to chosen players instead so that it can still be a secret to the rest of the table. Currently, my work around is adding it to their journal then telling them which folder to look in which is cumbersome. Seems like a small request and a very helpful one.
you can do this by editing in journal in the handout or do you want a popup so you don't have to go to the handout and edit the handout?
I believe that Guildmaster Grim is asking for the ability to pop the handout out to specific players instead of all players. Kilter said: you can do this by editing in journal in the handout or do you want a popup so you don't have to go to the handout and edit the handout?
oh instead of them going to the folder and opening it themselves after making it available to them.

I enjoy the feature but it's not very functional for secret items.

Show to Players already has this functionality. Edit the handout, assign it to those people you want to see it, save, then hit Show to Players.
I did not know that! Thanks! Gauss said: Show to Players already has this functionality. Edit the handout, assign it to those people you want to see it, save, then hit Show to Players.

+1 for the Idea Although the workaround is not especially cumbersome, there are a few times, I'd like the feature. For example, to help newer players (that perhaps have forgotten about an ability of their character) to pop this ability to them, even if the description is in the journal of all players. Or in another game, where I have put all spells in the journal (since there is no compendium and for now not the ability to make custom compendiums, i go for a large journal with game information; especially since a few custom spells make it there), and there are some spellcasters every player is aware of and a "secret spellcaster" (she is a witch, and although they're not hunted anymore directly, there is a big mistrust in them and they try to keep their abilities a secret). We play it that even the other players don't know it. When I want to hint the witch player to specific spell, i'd like to show it only to him, without the spell appearing for everyone - quite a lot of spells are put in the journal of more spellcasters, since the characters all know them. But if it pops up on other player screens, they will ask, why it pops up. In this case, the workaround is more cumbersome and there are more easily mistakes - I edit the spell to only show it to one player, show it, edit it again, to have it in the journal of all. And the last step is easily forgotten, so the questions can pop up later, "why is this spell no longer in my journal". It's not very important, but it would have its uses.

Hi Rondragos,  I would suggest that for the "secret spellcaster" you duplicate the handouts for them and assign them to that player only.  What you are calling a workaround isn't a workaround, it is how to do what the OP is asking for. Edit, assign, save, hit Show to Players.  A shortened process would look like: Show to Players, assign, apply That only removes one click, but adds 2 clicks for those users wanting to show to all the players.
