Player looking for a game...

Hello, let me say to start, I’m 65, retired and it’s been a few years (decades) since I’ve played a pen & paper RPG type game, but am very excited to once again pick up the hobby. I started with AD&D or what I gather is considered 1 st edition, late 70’s early 80’s. I’m a retired US Marine who has continued on to retire from fifteen years on offshore drilling rigs to a decade long stint as an over-the-road truck driver. So you might see or understand the reason I’ve been away so long. While not a noob to the game I am definitely in my infancy to playing it on-line or following the newer rules that have come out. Having just signed on to Roll20 and creating, hopefully, an account on discord I am prepared to begin anew my love for the fantasy. I haven’t completely explored the Roll20 and Discord sites but hopeful someone takes me under their wing till I get my feet under me in this regard. Anxiously waiting to hear from anyone wishing to take on a new player….  

Welcome friend. While I do not really have game for you. I will point out few things: Its always good idea to add your time zone and if you are looking for something more specific like fantasy or scifi etc. I know you mentioned AdnD, there are some ppl still running old ADnD, but I am not sure if that game is still open or not. But more details you provide about yourself, easier it will be for Dms to consider your as an player.

Welcome. I am a 58 year old US Navy veteran with 9 years active, living in Thailand. Not a whole lot of veterans our age, but we are around. I have been running games here for 10 years. Hey I’m 42 i run games mostly Exalted 3E but I’ve never played online. I’m getting antsy to find more players so I’m looking to expand into playing online. I’m not really sure how to go about it myself lol. like I said I GM for Exalted but I’m also interested in running Fabula Ultima and Alien i haven’t run those last two yet but they look fun.

OK, Retired police officer, ex-Army, have a long-term gaming group (the core have been together for 4+ years). I run long term games. We are currently twenty sessions into our current game. We have an empty seat. We are laid back, noob-friendly; 3 players are in their 30s-40s, the other 2 in their 20s. Here's what we post when looking for a player: We are looking a reliable, mature player for our long-term (40+ sessions) weekly game. The campaign has just completed its 19th session, and should have 10-15 sessions more to go, barring a TPK. With anther campaign immediately after. THIS IS NOT D&D Tuesdays 1800-2200 CST -5 GMT CST We are looking for a motivated player that is willing to make a commitment and put in the effort to make sure they are there for the game.  The group has been together for four years, and are very newbie-friendly. We are mostly older gamers, and all are laid-back. Experience in TTRPGs is not required. All materials provided for free. We are using the Aces & Eights system (Kenzer Company), in a alt-history 1889 where the Mexica Revolution started in 1888. The PCs are rail detectives working for the Union Pacific, and the UP has been hired to rebuild and expand Mexico's rail system (as is historical). In addition, there are dangerous occult forces stirring (there a dash of Lovecraft in the setting). We play online using Discord audio and Roll20 VTT, both free accounts. Role-play, investigation, intrigue, exploration, and combat are common, and close team-work is crucial.
