Charactermancer locking all buttons after selecting lv 1 VSS craftsman class

I've already tried a couple times to create a Craftsman from the Valda's Spire of Secrets book.  At first I was trying to do this in Opera GX browser, however, same thing happened with Chrome.  Basically, after selecting this class, all buttons lock up and cant progress any further. Something similar happens to the 2024 version, however, instead of locking the buttons, it just doesnt update the character at the end.
