So I tried using the character builder on the new 2024 sheets, and it was really finicky. Like, going into the point buy screen, the scores were jumping all over the place, like the backend wasn't syncing with the UI properly or something. My plan was to add the information that I could through the character builder, and then manually adjust anything I needed (I'm moving away from using dnd beyond after their recent decision to do away with purchasing classes and spells and stuff a-la cart, and forcing us to buy the rulebooks all at once upfront instead).
So I tried manually creating my character, and I'm wondering how to add custom sources for spells. For example, on the sheet where i tried using the builder, it lists 'druidcraft' and shows that the source is from the elf species where it would normally show the class:
I opened it up and showed a custom class, which I assume references the elf species on the page
and I want to know how to do the same thing for when we are manually setting up our sheets. One of the spells I'm adding is Silvery-Barbs, for the Fey-Wrought feat, and I don't see a way to add that into the spell other than manually adjusting the spell's description to include the source. When you click the class drop-down, it only lets you select a specific class, and does not show other sources like feats or species. For that matter, how do I handle an attack spell or something to set up the spellcasting ability if it doesn't come from one of my character's classes?
