Eleven years ago, the city of Drakkenheim, the capitol and crown jewel of Westmar, was struck by a strange meteor, devastating the city and causing a strange haze to settle on all over the city. The city then became overrun with mutated monsters, eldritch horrors, and all manner of things, while the riches and treasures of the city lay up for the taking. Will you, brave adventurer, brave the city in search of treasure and fame? Will you even survive the attempt? Join us as we explore the Dungeons of Drakkenheim! [From the back cover] Dungeons of Drakkenheim is a fantastic adventure set in a gothic rennaissance ruined city. Although the campaign is designed for only 4 player characters, we will be playing with 6, and the encounters are adjusted accordingly. The campaign is roleplay and exploration heavy, with plenty of combat to go around! It has a much darker, eldritch horror vibe than more traditional D&D games. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/418215/dungeons-of-drakkenheim-thursday-evening How to prepare -Voice chat will be done over Discord, and video chat will not be required. -You will need the following accounts/software: Discord, Roll20 (the free version is fine), dndbeyond (free version is fine; this is if you are using dndbeyond for your character), and the browser extension Beyond20 (if not having your character on Roll20 directly). -The vast majority of character creation should be done prior to our first session -A basic understanding of D&D 5e is helpful but not needed as beginners are welcome -We will be using the 2024 ruleset What I provide I will be bringing the following things to the table: -I have the full Roll20 Pro suite, especially for this adventure. -I will, after a player provides a picture, provide a token for your character if wanted (players are welcome to bring their own) -I bring 27+ years of DMing experience -I use voices as well as ambient music where appropriate. -Combat will be a challenge, as monsters/NPCs will be played intelligently, based on their own intelligence/adventure notes describe -The Rule of Cool is DEFINITELY in play; "You can certainly try" is one of my favorite phrases, and if it will be awesome to pull off, I'll let you give it a shot -My References: https://startplaying.games/gm/thedailydm Gameplay details Session zero will involve character creation, as well as going over potential content issues and making sure everyone will be okay.
