Tlie dungeon scrawl maps are pretty cool.

A nice undocumented feature is that roll20 maps can use the dugeonscrawl layers to implement layers.

But as a Pro subscriber... it seems kinda silly it does not integrate with roll20 lighting.  This seems a necessary feature.

I agree, this is a great feature that would be made better by integrating roll 20 lighting.  With out the lighting element its utility would be rather limited .

It's still nice for free level users or for maps that don't require Dynamic Lighting. So I'd hardly call it "near useless". But I'd agree that it could certainly be made "more useful." +1

I wouldn't call it useless; could still be used for games where the map is more of a blueprint than something you play on in a granular way. But for modern d20 games, lighting integration would be SO amazing. I would absolutely pay for dungeonscrawl if they added this integration.

Automatically generated DL barriers would be amazing, but their lack doesn't make this new function useless. You can always apply a mask and reveal the map as the players move.

Would definitely appreciate this!

Hi All - I wanted to check in what you all may envision Dungeon Scrawl's connection to Roll20's Dynamic Lighting to be. Is it...
1) When adding Lighting to maps in Dungeon Scrawl, those light sources would automatically appear as light sources on the Dynamic Lighting Layers in Roll20 upon connection that could be adjusted
2) When adding Lighting to maps in Dungeon Scrawl, those lights (and relevant barriers) would automatically appear as light sources on the Dynamic Lighting Layers in Roll20 upon connection?
3) Is it potentially, something else?

Adding walls for lighting is the big thing for me.

If Lights are placed in Dungeon Scrawl, those Lightsources should appear on the DL Layer AND should be movable if necessary!

Number 3. The main thing is walls not light sources.

The main thing is -- when you create a Shape or a Wall in Dungeon Scrawl --- it should add that same Line onto the Dynamic Lighting Layer as a Wall in Roll20.

Setting lights in Roll20 is easy as-it-is. We mainly have Tokens that already have either Torches or Lanters and has Vision already set in Roll20, and don't need many campfires or sconces or lightbulbs to be added in the dungeon. It's usually the Token-Carried-Light in Roll20 that's already set from using other maps, before you ever make a DS map.

I just want DS walls to become DL Walls in Roll20, so that my existing Roll20 Player-Character Tokens (that already has vision and often already carries Light) can walk around the dungeon, and so that "Walls Restrict Movement" can be used in Roll20.

It's about the walls coming into Roll20's Dynamic Lighting Layer as walls (lines).

Light-Sources is very secondary to Walls.

I agree with @Gold here.

Having an option to automatically add walls as barriers to the light layer is _super important_.  That was my original complaint in a nutshell.
