Last call: Rogue Trader - Tuesdays 7pm EST (UST -5:00)

also how did you get a 58 Ballistic skill? and with some of your skill mastery did you happen to accidentally purchase the duplicate skills for rank 1?
Hi Daniel, if you are still looking for an astropath I would love to join the group. Sent you an email as well.
I think were still in need of one.
We are indeed short one astropath. We may also be short a seneshal, since I haven't head from DrPersons recently. I'm liking the way the characters are shaping up, I'll try to set something up online that we can all view. Design notes on everyones' characters to follow shortly!
I achieved 58 BS by spending 100 xp to advance it. We start with 500 xp right? I spent 300 for the Good Bionic Arm, 100 for Awareness, and 100 was spent on BS. I put an 18 point in the skill at the start, +5 from fortress world, and +5 from Stubjack. So, 18+25+5+5+5? Am I not yet able to spend the 100 xp to advance the characteristic? This is a very new character creation system to me!
Arm solved it, thanks.
when do we get to see the ship role post, or will that happen Tuesday night?
SO when is the first game?
the intro session is on Tuesday. Think the game will officially start soon after or the same night. Not sure on that yet.
Wow, Mike's Origin Path sounds identical to mine, right down to being a Heavy Weapons person!
We seem to intersect at Fortress World, Stubjack, Hand of War, whats your Lure and Motivation? (Not that it makes me unhappy, if we have tons of intersections, we might be long time friends/siblings/whatever, good chance to get hooks together basically)

Yeah, looks pretty boss =)
Trying to put together a house troop contingent, going to experiment with the rules In BattleFleet Koronus.
Busy working, huge update to follow. Robert...release the kraken (reveal whatever information on the ship we already have, for the groups perusal and approval).
Thanks! First time with Rogue Trader, and I'm liking how it looks already. :D

Nice Rolando, any thoughts on the ship?
i like the ship
looks pretty awsome
I take it everyone is good with the setup?
Rob: My guess is many just haven't had much time to take a look at ship rules yet. Now they at least have something to think about before you guys finalise, name, and christen it next week.
(Yeah. I have like no clue about the ship rules. LOL sorry)
Also I added the stats for Jayne to the pic post above.
go to the rogue trader web page and look through the download on the support section called drydock, a rough explanation of the starship rules are there.
Rolando, the voidship will come with several common and poor-quality arvus lighters. If you'd like to use your free acquisition on an Aquila Lander, it will be best-quality and custom built. We can discuss armament, trading speed for armor, and its purpose (luxury shuttle, cargo conveyor, assault boat). Alternatively, you could get a common Fury Interceptor, just putting it out there.
Well i was serious about about liking the ship, from what little i can remember of the components it seems like a fine ship... but i thought a void array only was one void shield.
there are 2 In the main book, the single void array and the multiple void for cruisers only
A common fury interceptor? Hmmmm it's a very hard choice. How custom built, because the Fury Interceptor is pretty damn strong but its just an fighting craft no other use. And custom built Aquila could be fairly interesting depending how its customized and could be more useful to the explorers.
Ah thanks for clarifying.
could always go for a guncutter
Rolando's answer: As customized as "best-quality" can get you. It won't match the raw speed and power of the fury, but we can rebuild it better, faster, stronger. We have the technology.
Sadly, guncutters were sold out.
really, do i even have at least one in stock?
... I like you... Well its a hard choice, i guess I'm going to go with the custom Aquila. In part because i think i'll be able to use it more (ferry stuff, who knows) and i think it will be a bit more unique. Sorry if i sound wierd or pompous i still have little clue what im doing.
figured the ship point bought more than just a hull.
Update includes: Character profiles w/GM suggestions, tentative schedule, preview of Tuesday, ship roles list
It says I need to provide a picture, but I did provide a picture =P Also, I provided a background =P I would love a lineage, though, just couldnt afford one on the starting xp. Love Far Reaching Contacts, fits into my backstory nicely. I'll write up some additional stuff.
Internal Power Cell looks nice to get as a free acquisition... Daniel - While fleshing out my character, I rolled and I'm going to start with 16 insanity points. Would you rather I make the roll I've gotten (-10 to Fellowship tests) a permanent one, or something else?
Wow, Mike's Origin Path sounds identical to mine, right down to being a Heavy Weapons person! I haven't gone in depth with my characters background yet, that'll happen today though. Perhaps we grew up on the same fortress world together, and did a little enforcer/mercenary work. At some point, my path strayed and I was involved in some nefarious activity with some crime boss and it ended up with me getting my arm blown off. We eventually felt the call of the Army and joined for a time and served in a war. I picked Chaos as my Hatred enemy in any case. That was what I was thinking when I went with those first paths.
Oh, and from what I remember of the ship portion of the book, that ship looks good!
After looking at your suggestions I will change things around a bit to better fit the group. Instead of heavy weapons training , I'll take the Leap Up, and I'm going to take the bionic legs instead of the left arm. I don't have my book handy, so I will check out the lineages when I get home and make a decision there. With the acquisition portion..what quality boltgun could I get? I would also be happy to step into the role of Chief Bosun. My low fellowship won't really help out in any role.
Might I suggest we all hop in Skype today or tomorrow, to build our characters together (So that we compliment one another's skills?)
Survey All players should list, out of 3, how much of the game they prefer RP (role playing: backgrounds, character development, interaction with 40k setting) vs G (rules, GM vs players style survival missions, common deaths of player characters). Even 0 RP still involves some character development (nature of the game), and likewise, 3 RP still uses dice to decide outcomes, simulate interactions between players and NPCs, etc. Example 1 RP, 2 G Prefer games where players are hard-pressed, death is a factor, but player characters are essential to the crew, and their actions severely impact the outcome of major plot developments. 3 RP 0 G Prefer game played primarily in narrative time, with skills representing the actions that player characters take over a series of weeks or months. Players are vastly integral to plot development, and GMs employ deus ex machina to keep them alive. 0 RP 3 G Strictly by the rulebook, players seeks a challenging and often deadly simulation of life in the 40k universe. They prefer little to no narrative time play. The GM primarily creates and controls "enemies", not NPCs to interact with. Player death is a certainty, it's just a matter of when and how... Re: XP for lineages I'm willing to let characters start with a bit extra if it means everyone has a good background. Assuming starting XP is only spent on origin paths and lineages, I'll give everyone slightly higher starting amount. Players should discuss this together. Re: origins Great suggestion, I'll try to get another visual overlay done for all player origin paths. I suggest Skype/chat to discuss with each other, posting would be too slow and crush the board. Re: Mike's character changes Your heavy weapons selection was fine, there's no "power-gaming" problem. In fact, I'd say any Heavy Weap option is preferable to Leap Up, which would only let you, say...run around the ship through damaged components without having to take penalties as your bionic legs propel you upwards and onwards at an unrelenting pace. I was just trying to point out you wouldn't get to use it every mission. It'd be a valuable asset when you could use it. Your character, your way. Just didn't want disappointment later if you expected every mission to be a war zone. Sorry if I'm being wishy washy. Don't have rules here, but I think it'd be a good quality bolt gun. Re: skills Assuming you all don't meet on Skype to discuss, another option would be for everyone to simulate their "just starting Rank 4" character. By that point, collectively, you should have a wide array of skills. If you don't, you can see where there's overlap. Added bonus, you all get an idea where you're going. Re: Mistaken GM demands for Poison Apologies. I likely got confused. How could I forget the female space pirate?
what Time should we meet on skype, also I mailed in the Lineage change for my character, could only afford heir apparent after dropping awareness.
