Hi all! I'm looking for a player to join my long-term gaming group playing through the Abomination Vaults. We're online Saturday evenings with the occasional Tuesday evening thrown in. We've been having trouble finding weeks we're all available so we'd like to add a fifth player to the group so we can keep going when one person is out. About the Game We've played through the Beginner Box (the other three players were new to Pathfinder), and I've sprinkled in most of Troubles in Otari in the first two levels of Abomination Vaults. We've just made it to the third. With the extra content, the party is over-leveled to fifth, which compensates for the Vault's notorious difficulty most of the time. It's the Abomination Vaults (with some modifications), so the play is mostly combat with some exploration and not too much room for role play. But the party does like to talk its way out of trouble and, as GM, I encourage it when I can. The three characters are all melee-focused, so a support or AOE-focused character would be a good addition. But not too squishy since one person will be out a lot of the time. System: Pathfinder 2nd Edition without the remaster Format: Roll20 official module & Discord Language: English Schedule: Saturdays @ 6:00 - 10:00 WST (UTC-8) with the occasional Tuesday evening 6-9 added in. If the extra player lets us game more regularly, we may scale back to three hour sessions. We used to play in-person and would like to get back to it at least occasionally, so living in or near San Francisco is a plus. Progression: experience-based Variant Rules: just me winging it when I don't have an answer right away About the Adventure When the mysterious lighthouse called Gauntlight glows with baleful light, the people of Otari suspect that it's an ominous prelude to sinister events. Heroes must explore the ruins around the lighthouse and delve into the dungeon levels below. Hideous monsters, deadly traps, and vengeful ghosts all await the heroes who dare to enter the sprawling megadungeon called the Abomination Vaults! Content Warning: While AV contains typical Pathfinder action and adventure, it also presents themes of suicide, ableism, body horror, and human experimentation. Levels: 5 - 13-ish Player's Guide: https://downloads.paizo.com/AbominationVaults_PlayersGuide.pdf (Reading this is mandatory) Style of play: AV is a megadungeon, so expect lots of combat and exploration, with occasional role-play. Difficulty: With a four-member party, I'll stop being so nice and play the monsters smarter in a dungeon that can be quite challenging. Understand that your character may die. About the Group: We're a group of men in our 30's to 50's who came together a bit haphazardly over time. The gaming group started in-person six years ago, but switched to online during lockdown and have mostly stayed there for logistical convenience. Two out of the original group are still here (I'm one) and we've picked up two more over time. We've been through three full campaigns plus some shorter stuff over that time. We're all experienced D&D players, but this is our first Pathfinder game. I have a bit more experience with Pathfinder from Organized Play, but the other guys are all beginners. The first GM in our group got too busy to run games, so I took over running the games. I started with Spelljammer, but after talking up Pathfinder and picking up Abomination Vaults in a Humble Bundle, we decided to switch over at least for a bit. Player Requirements & Expectations Computer good enough to run Roll20 reliably along with reliable internet. A decent microphone and a quiet place to play. Consistent and punctual. Good communication - If you can't make it then let me know, don't wait til an hour before to tell me you can't come. I understand emergencies can happen and real life takes priority, but it takes less than 1 minute to send a message. Be a team player - That means being kind and helpful to everyone playing. Wants to work together with the party to tell a collaborative story. Learn your class and the basic rules. No arguing about politics or religion. No assholes - If I get the tiniest inkling you are an asshole, you are gone. No second chances.
