Toggle for restricting assets to be drawn inside the map

I was wondering if we could get a toggle or just remove drawing assets outside of the map. When I make maps I tend to have assets purposely cut off at the borders of the map. It can help things look cleaner imo. This wasn't a problem with the old map system, but when I tried working in Jumpgate this was the first problem I ran into. If anything a toggle for restricting whether assets are drawn inside the borders of a map would be nice (A global toggle to have it automatically happen/not happen on all maps would also be great). I really want to use Jumpgate (I've waited 8 years for a foreground feature), but it feels like I have to unlearn techniques for making maps that I've used for so long. Yes I understand I can just draw squares over the edges, but they'll never be perfect to the borders. That just feels like a bandaid for a wound that needs stitches. I know that sounds hyperbolic, but I don't know why this change was added/left in.
I'm not quite understanding what you mean by "removing drawing assets outside of the map". Are you referring to the way Jumpgate allows the game creator see areas of a map that extend beyond the page's defined grid?
So this is a test I did in Jumpgate And this is what I was going I'm going for with the old version. So yeah, I am talking about the stuff being outside of the grid. Just wondering if there's a way to disable it/ add something to allow it.
OK, I thought that was what you were asking for bu wasn't sure. You have my vote!

The part that is outside the map borders, does not show to Players. That part is only visible to the GM. The area outside the Page borders in Jumpgate is meant to act as a pasteboard area where the GM can store monsters, traps, notes-reminders.  I wouldn't worry about covering it up wtih boxes, unless it's bothering you that-much as GM to see it, since your Players will be seeing a view very similar to your Legacy Roll20 screenshot version.  By the way the bright white line that's the border in Jumpgate, also does not show to Players. They see a clean colorless edge. The white line is provided to help the GM see where the exact edge-for-players is.
I know that players aren't supposed to see the area outside of the grid, but I've had several maps where they do see it. It's not consistent, but I've since made a habit of surrounding the gridded area with a DL boundary.

Rick, there were some temporary Known Bugs along the way, like that, that Roll20 has since fixed. The fixes are reported in the ChangeLog.  I'm not seeing any (much less a rash of) current reports of Players seeing any Map graphics outside the bounds.
Personally, I still would really like a toggle. It is a very helpful tool to have, however I often find myself feeling visually distracted by map elements that tend to stretch beyond the borders. I like to see as close to what my players see as possible when running a game, and unfortunately the maps I make tend to have multiple elements that stretch beyond the page bounds. I just want the ability to turn this on and off. As well as the Page Border, so that I can view a fully black page without the borders showing up. I want to be immersed in my own games, as well.
