This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of 25$ per session. Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. (opened up a new time slot!) Homebrew D&D world of ancient deities, spirits, fae, and dragons. A cult is making a comeback after being "wiped out" ten years ago. People are being kidnapped, towns are being burned, and... a strange curse is sweeping through the land, turning those afflicted into monsters upon death. Across the lands are ancient, decrepit ruins dedicated to a forgotten hero and a forgotten religion. Investigate the beginnings of a curse's effect on the land and its inhabitants, starting with the swamps of Liatris. Residents of this small bog town have gone missing, and you have been hired to find them. But when you find there are bigger problems than just missing people, how will you handle it? RP heavy, PC driven, healthy balance of dark and lighthearted. Beginner friendly! Time: Wednesdays, weekly at 10am PDT https://startplaying.games/adventure/cmfpvv2ou003zkw0473vlwbwe https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/425091/the-hero-never-came I'm a 31yo nonbinary artist whose passion lies in storytelling! The most important things to me in ttrpgs are fun, roleplay, and story (including player characters' backstories, not just plot). I've been DMing for about 10 years and playing D&D for about 15. I love homebrew and having the players add onto the setting with locations, plot hooks, NPCs, deities, whatever they (reasonably) want to add! New players always welcome! Being LGBTQ+ myself, obviously this table loves and welcomes LGBTQ+ players! Do not expect a rules lawyer here; the rules are here for me to use as a base, something to fall back on, but ultimately we're here to have fun and do cool things. Rules can and will be waived or bent in my games - but only in the favor of the players, never to try and put you at a disadvantage. I'm here to challenge the player characters and be their guide through the world they explore. Sure, the dice gods may demand a death every once in a blue moon, but I'm 100% the party's biggest fan. This is also a space for us to escape reality; my games DO NOT include racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, etc. either in game or at the table. It will not be tolerated. Yes, that applies to things such as "monstrous" races and their societies. There is no "inherently evil" at my table. The most realistic evil you'll see at my table are capitalists, monarchies, and player characters' horrible families from their tragic backstories. Was a professional player in Hp2Xp and isFriday livestreamed games 'Adventures in Umbranthal' and 'Crypt of the Ruby Dragon,' as well as a recurring player in shows on GirlsRunTheseWorlds! Currently running a magical girl inspired FATE AP, 'Auriga Stars,' there!
Here's some info on the setting: quince: thick forests, mountainous with a grassy valley. houses the Earth Temple, which also governs any political decisions that the individual towns don't handle. peaceful, not much conflict. the Light Temple is on an island in the strait south of Quince, which stands independent from other countries and nations. iris: strong trading country, run by a council in Clove. among the council are two of the most powerful wizards, who happen to be married. the wizards are both politically and magically powerful, and hold a lot of sway across country lines. juniper: this calm empire has a diversity win; the emperor Lune Juniper is happily married to his husband, the king of Lark across the river. their marriage was not a peace treaty or anything political, they're just really gay. it's kind of cringe how much pda they display. the empire's expansion has stopped with Lune as he is focused on improving the country's current state rather than just making it bigger. lark: practically a mirror of juniper, the kingdom of Lark and king Lark Siegert V have unintentionally ended a centuries long rivalry between the countries by being extremely gay. the Twin Cities is where their castle lies, two grand cities joined into one via bridges over the river. it also hosts two very prestigious academies, one magic and one general. aster + liatris: sprawling savannah, rainforest, and swamp, much of this continent is difficult to traverse. there is no ruling party, each country handles things by towns and governors. the countries really only separate what side of the river you're on. sea of the spider lily: once upon a time was not a sea; there are ruins far beneath the water that hint of an ancient city flooded and destroyed. the oleanders: once a single kingdom, now split by civil war over trade and taxes. North Oleander was the loser, and South Oleander was the victor. N. Oleander is barely governed, leadership constantly passing through hands. S. Oleander has a loose 'democracy'. S. Oleander also has a very successful port town with lots of trade. amaranth desert: beautiful purple sands and gorgeous violet mountains. home of the Star Temple. like Quince, anything the individual towns can't handle is brought up to the Star Temple, though that is rare. azalea isles: lovely tropical island chain with a tall mountain range at its heart. home to both the Air Temple and Water Temple. campion + draba: campion was once a single nation, home to the Ice Temple and a few nomadic tribes and a couple towns. folks from Iris started being Fucking Colonizers and encroached on the southern land, naming it Draba and trying to make money off its resources. this hasn't been going great due to the harsh cold of the north and the family of dragons that live on the stormloch isles. snapdragon's eye: volcanic home of the Fire Temple. not super friendly to outsiders and only welcomes people onto the island for official Temple business. rose bights: towering cliffs make this a fortress of an island. don't go there. bad things happen there. verdigris ocean: beautiful sparkling green-tinted ocean, full of life. ocean of the tempest: always covered in horrible storms, impossible to traverse once you go into the storm. sleeping ocean: something sleeps beneath the waves here, said to be guarded by the Ice Temple and the icy triton below. or maybe it's called the sleeping ocean because, opposed to the ocean of the tempest, the sea is almost always calm.

EVANDER of Temple Town, The Blazing Hero: an aasimar paladin with a reputation for being the golden boy, perfect example, etc. he was raised by the temple of Temple Town to be a paladin since he was born, considered a blessing upon the town even if his mother didn't make it. since, he has upheld his title of a hero, traveling the lands, helping where he can, and vanquishing evil. which - he played a major part in about ten years ago, when cult activity was at a peak. ten years ago, Evander and his party were the ones who sought out the cult's hideout in Rose Bights after a long hunt. they attacked the cult's heart with full force, and ultimately won - though it was at quite a cost. not many returned from the battle. Evander has since worked alone, but still holds up his cheerful, shining attitude to bring hope to those he encounters.
DALIT, rogue necromancer wanted dead or alive: not much is known about her, but there are wanted posters everywhere. the bounty is posted by the country of Iris. notes about her on the poster are: -dangerous rogue necromancer -water genasi with green hair and olive skin -lightning scar on her chest -has a fascination with teeth
Very quick rundown of the major temple leaders: ELRA, head of the Earth Temple: (he/they) a dryad whose massive, ancient tree houses the temple. he is the only temple leader that cannot leave, so often times if meetings between leaders are required, they're held at the Earth Temple. he is cheerful and carefree, and really in his position due to his age and, technically, wisdom. unfortunately he is oft careless when it comes to Quince matters; he cares more for "the bigger picture" rather than petty politics. AKKAL, elder of the Air Temple : (she/they) an elder harpy who sharply watches over the Air Temple and its matters. despite her harsh appearance and resting bitch face, she is quite mischievous, and has a lovely singing voice. PEARL, high priestess of the Water Temple: (she/her) she has inherited the title of high priestess after the former high priestess lost her life during a raid on the temple some 20 years ago. pearl is soft-spoken and sweet, one of the most welcoming leaders of the temples. she and her siblings are merfolk; it is tradition to have sirens, however, as Guardians of the Water Temple, decked out in beautiful sea-themed armor. KHAA, elder of the Fire Temple : (he/him) a curmudgeon of a dragonborn, resembling a cockatrice. the oldest of the leaders alongside Elra, Khaa is the least friendly of the leaders. he is well known to be unwelcoming to guests and pilgrims to the temple, though his disciples are much kinder. people are kind of just waiting for him to die of old age so they can appoint someone new. SHIVER, leader of the Ice Temple: (they/them) stoic and serious, Shiver's priorities are their duties and tradition. they are a white dragonborn from a long line of protectors of north Campion, working closely with the triton in the cold, Sleeping Ocean. Shiver has a long fued with Khaa. RANGI, high priestess of the Stars Temple: (she/her) the youngest temple leader at 12, Rangi is a human who had strong, truthful visions as long as she could remember. her powers made it clear to the priests of the Stars Temple that she was to be its leader, and was raised from the age of 5 to be just that. because of that, she's had to grow up quickly, and hasn't been able to have a childhood. she has several advisors to assist, of course, and a pair of sphinx-taurs as guardians. FARRAN, high priest of the Light Temple: (he/him) a half elf whose family have been part of the Light Temple for generations. his predecessor lost his life about 10 years ago, assisting heroes take down a cult. Farran has since stepped in his father's footsteps decently, managing the temple with a level head and kindness. Farran is quiet and, were he not in a position of power where he had to take initiative, could easily fade into the background. LOKI, necromancer of the Light Temple: (she/her) the only place to legally learn necromancy is at the Light Temple, where its use and its user can be closely monitored. Loki is a human with a passion for the spooky, and now that she has put her adventuring days behind her, has settled as the official necromancer of the Light Temple. usually she doesn't have much to do, as not too many are interested in learning necromancy, so she spends her time taking care of graves and handling death and bereavement.
