No longer possible to set custom scale units

The dropdown selection for setting the units of a map scale no longer includes the option to input a custom unit. I can still do this from the game's default page settings, but not on the settings for any individual page. Is this just me?

Hi Jan. It's not just you. I playtested, confirmed & replicated. On the new Page Settings panel, in a Jumpgate game. For an uncool workaround, there is a selection called "Units" just the generic word "units". What's missing is "Custom Units". Custom Units was a feature introduced to Roll20 about 6 years ago, announced by then-Roll20 Team developer Stephen in this thread, https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/2346451/ruler-scales-should-have-a-custom-units-option The fresh new Page Settings panel was announced this past week: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12412541/weekly-roundup-unfurling-the-new-d-and-d-2024-sheet-roadmap-week-of-6-slash-27-slash-25 Unfortunately that thread is Locked and there is no existing official feedback thread for the new Page Settings panel feature. If Roll20 Team would unlock their Feature announcement threads, then users could post feedback. It comes-across as if new features are being launched without consideration to gather user playtest feedback when major VTT changes are announced without an open thread. The same thing happened with the Player Token Centering feature at first, until eventually a feedback thread was created after numerous user requests, and then changes were made to the feature in response to the user feedback, as it should be (in the first place). So I guess we are now in that position ---- either ask Roll20 to create a Forum thread for user feedback about the new Page Settings panel feature, or lacking that we'd have to just report issues to the Help Center and wait/hope for a reply. Here is the Help Center to report it and start a Help ticket, https://help.roll20.net/hc/en-us/requests/new
Thanks for the quick response. I'd looked for an announcement about the change in the Page Settings, but didn't notice that it was buried in a thread about D&D 2024 thread since that's not a game I play.

Here, now, I started a thread on the PRO board, asking Roll20 Team to create an announcement thread dedicated to the new Page Settings panel, so that users can notice the changes (that was otherwise buried, like you said) and give feedback (like this current thread is, except centralized and drawn to the attention of the devs) please: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12415762/create-an-announcement-and-feedback-thread-for-new-roll20-jumpgate-page-settings-panel-revamp-feature If you would like, put a response in that thread to encourage the kind of feedback thread(s) that we need for new VTT features

Oh, that’s bad! I have maps in The One Ring 2e scaled in furlongs (1/8 mile). Off to make my voice heard!

You just need to click on the dropdown box and then you can type your custom unit in.
Unclear, unannounced and not intuitive to users. Hales [] said: Jan K. said: The dropdown selection for setting the units of a map scale no longer includes the option to input a custom unit.
