Short-form Anthology | Heavy Roleplay | Homebrew World | 21+ | LGBTQ+ Inclusive Warning: Long post ahead, requiring careful read. I'm looking for one last player for a specific party role (inventor/ innovator) to complete a group. I'm aiming to be as thorough as possible to ensure a good fit. The World at Dawn The earth is still young, unnamed, and unshaped. Its rivers run wild without maps, its forests whisper with voices older than words, and the skies hold songs no tongue has yet learned to echo. Humans cling to a fragile survival. The land is thinning, with beasts hunted near to silence, and the soil, weary and unwilling. And beyond the borders of your settlement, a strange rot begins to spread, stirring along with it mysteries as old as time. There is no more room to grow. And no more time to wait. You must step beyond the horizon as a scout, a maker, a dreamer, a pioneer. The first histories are waiting to be written, and one of them may be yours. Your role as an Inventor & Pioneer This final seat is for a visionary: a non-magical/mundane human character whose raw creativity can ignite the very first sparks of civilization. In an age without written word, coin, or gods, your ideas may truly shape the world. You will be called to invent, improvise, and explore new ways of thinking in a fragile world. This role is narratively demanding and thrives on imagination, experimentation, and above all, curiosity. It is perfect for confident roleplayers who delight in discovery, puzzles, and creative problem-solving. Bonus points if you have a background or keen interest in science, history, or engineering . But above all, this is about storytelling. Your Storyteller and what they can offer Greetings adventurer, my name is I’m Mari. I'm an experienced role-player (10+ years) and TTRPG player (6+ years). I have a deep passion for storytelling, and I have reached a point where I don't see TTRPGs as just a casual hobby, but as a special experience that connects people through shared emotions. Something that can only be reached though the labour of love, commitment and collective interest of everyone at the table. And I'm hoping to bring together a select group of people who share in this mindset. I’m still developing as a DM, but I bring high effort and intentional design to every session. That includes custom self-made art for characters, environments, maps, items, curated playlists for mood, and much more! I'm always clear about expectations, open to constructive feedback and deeply value mutual respect & trust My style is collaborative, roleplay-forward and rules-flexible, but with structure and consistency. Player responsibility is essential to make that balance work. I value narrative integration and personalized quests: I aim to weave your character's ambitions, fears, and dreams into the story for a deeply personal and emotional experience I know I am asking a lot from my players, but I give even more in return. If you value collaboration, creativity, and connection, you'll find an immersive and rewarding experience at my table. This won’t be “just a game”, and I’m looking for players who can be as invested in this journey as I am. Game details Current setting: A pre-civilized world where all the great histories and discoveries are yet to be made. Primitive cultures are detail-rich, but there is no clear written language, currency, or known Deities. Magic exists, but is mysterious, inaccessible and regarded with a mixture of awe and fear. Species options are humans only, at the moment. Format: Anthology of short campaigns (<10 sessions each). Your characters’ choices will shape history across multiple mini-campaigns set in different eras. System: D&D 5e (2014), official content only Schedule: Weekly Mondays 7–10/11 PM BST Tech: Must be experienced with Roll20 + Discord. Stable internet, quality mic & quiet setup required. Tone: Story-driven, serious, immersive, emotional, but natural humour is welcome Gameplay: Roleplay & exploration focus; rare but challenging strategic combat I’m looking for someone 21+ (preferably 25+), seeking a mature, supportive, collaborative and emotionally engaging experience. LGBTQ+ inclusive ; women & LGBTQ+ players are especially welcome. Punctual, communicative, and reliable. You respect scheduling commitments, give advance notice when needed, and meet soft deadlines without needing chasing. Highly proficient in English for nuanced narrative roleplay and note taking Experienced with immersive roleplay (speak as your character, narrate their actions). Who can remain in character for the duration of session. Comfortable with a restrictive setting and making a character who belongs in it Important! In this game, I'd like you to… Be able to balance narrative depth with mechanical competence. Have an engaged, decisive and proactive playstyle: Be curious, take initiative, ask questions, and be self-motivated to explore without needing heavy-handed prompts. Prepare in advance : In a short campaign, there's little room to learn as you go. So know your character mechanically and narratively from session one, and be comfortable using Roll20. Ideally: Be creative, intuitive, pick up on subtle cues and read between the lines, connect dots others might miss, and enjoy solving narrative puzzles. Be enthusiastic, sociable and outgoing : I am particularly looking for someone with high energy for IC & OOC engagement. Shy, quiet, or more reserved players might not be a good fit at the moment. The next steps If you're on board so far, check out the application form: [Google forms link] The form is very thorough and a bit of a time commitment, so if you have any doubts or questions about the campaign that will better inform your decision to apply, please message me and I will do my best to clarify. Process: Application → Voice interview → 1–2 trial sessions with the party as a self-contained story before committing. The party has already been through S0 but we haven't started playing yet, so it will be easy to bring you up to speed. If this world calls to you, I’d love to receive your application!
