You should be able to install it on a 5E game, but the characters will have no stats. You would have to manually replace them. (You could drag and drop a creature onto the character.)

there’s clearly interest in an official 5e version to reduce the conversion burden. Fingers crossed for a smoother release or conversion pack soon
