A multitude of problems recently - not looking good for Roll20 - (BUG REPORT / ADVICE)

I have not seen my topic come up, so hopefully I can get some help here. I have noticed several bugs/annoyances recently with my Roll20. First of all - When changing a map to either a larger or smaller size, Roll20 fails to load the map unless the browser page is refreshed manually, so it no longer adjusts in real time, not a huge issue, but its a slight annoyance. Secondly, and more annoyingly - When duplicating a page, it used to only copy everything over to a new page it creates, NOT NOW - It duplicates all assets on the original page. This is NOT on, as it means I then ruin my original page with multiple layers of assets, which slow my game down, and as there is no rollback option for the page itself on a mid tier subscription, the page has to be removed fully instead. Thirdly, and somewhat strangely - Only SOME of my monster tokens that I place appear as both a TOKEN and a LIGHT source, yet I have checked both token settings and default settings for tokens, and there are no settings as ON for vision, or emits light, or any other form of light setting, everything is off. Both the tokens that the game considers as LIGHT and TOKEN, and the ones only considered as TOKEN, have identical set ups, yet some are treated differently. This isn't game breaking per say, but it's an annoyance all the same

Hi DEMONSPIKE! I have not experienced either of your first two bugs. Did this just start happening today? I have not seen any other reports, and these are big enough that it would seem likely to affect a lot of people. Can you: Supply your browser model Verify if you get the same behavior in a private/incognito window, or in another browser Disable any extensions that might affect Roll20 behavior The third issue is a little trickier, since there may be some terminology at play. There is no functional difference between a token and a light source. They are just different settings on the same object type. Some screenshots might be helpful here. Are you able to consistently duplicate the unwanted behavior. Step by Step instructions that can be reproduced in detail would help determine where the issue lies. Also, screenshots of the objects and their settings would also help.

Hi Keith I already have supplied a screenshot of two monster types showing up as differently. You can see the Zombies up the top of the screen have no light indicator (White boxes) whereas the skeletons to the lower right, do. They equally have the same token settings for their dynamic lighting effects, which are set to nothing. I can consistently recreate this problem, by placing down new monsters on the token layer as a token, switching to the light layer, and I will see the monsters I placed have that white box on them. I'm using Chrome, and until now these issues have not been happening. Although I did have an issue with the page size needing a manual refresh each time I change it, for about a month now. However, a fast F5 key press is no big deal, so I didn't feel the need to bother reporting it. The other two issues are a bigger problem, although having the tokens as both a light source layer, and token layer combined, isn't game breaking at all. The BIGGEST issue I have - is when you try to duplicate your page, the system creates your new page with everything you want on it, but it also duplicates all the assets again on the original page, in the exact same spaces, only on the top layer of the map, and this is a problem when your campaign is an isometric one, as each asset needs to be layered to connect up.
Oh also - I just dummy tested the duplicating assets on the original page, and it doesn't seem to be doing that anymore - which is a huge relief. The tokens showing up as a light source, even when set as a token layer token only, is still an ongoing thing though.

I'm trying to understand or re-create what you're saying about the Lighting box. That box is Supposed to appear (for any Token that is eligible to be given vision). I wanted to make sure you're aware of how this functionality is intended to work. In the Zombies screenshot --- are all the zombies from both rooms, on the Token Layer only? If the "top room" zombies are on a different layer (such as Map Layer or Foreground or GM) that would explain why they don't get the lighting box. If you're saying that Zombies who don't have Light Source or Vision enabled still get the lighting box --- that is the intended behavior. They are eligible to be given vision. In other words it does not matter if a token HAS vision/light, only that it is a token that COULD receive vision or light, in order to see the box. The box is telling you (the GM looking at lighting layer) that there's a token that could be given sight. I may be misunderstanding the issue, I'm genuinely trying to parse out what you're describing and screenshotting. I'm not quite sure if you're saying that the presence of the box is the issue, or the absence of the box is the issue. If it is the presence of the box --- I wanted to explain that the box is supposed to be there. If it is the absence of the box, can you doublecheck which Layer that the ones missing the box are on? DEMONSPIKE said: Thirdly, and somewhat strangely - Only SOME of my monster tokens that I place appear as both a TOKEN and a LIGHT source, yet I have checked both token settings and default settings for tokens, and there are no settings as ON for vision, or emits light, or any other form of light setting, everything is off. The other 2 issues, I recommend to follow up what Keith said about: Verify if you get the same behavior in a private/incognito window, or in another browser Disable any extensions that might affect Roll20 behavior Those steps are likely going to be essential to troubleshooting this.

Another user has reported, what sounds like the same issue -- about the Page size resizing itself, https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/12592428/how-to-stop-canvas-size-from-resizing-automatically

Thanks for jumping in, Gold. I am going to be at PAX U until Monday. I'll jump back in if a resolution is not found before then.
