The foothills of the Broken Crown Mountains hold a tragic history. The dwarves of the 2ndling Clan dug deep for silver in Cresthole Mountain, but a terrible explosion ripped through the mines, claiming 72 lives. Five years later, a second attempt ended in another blast, killing 26 more. The High King of the Dwarves declared the site cursed and sealed it forever. The curse, however, was forgotten. When a new war forced the dwarves to return, they found the mine filled with a strange, noxious gas and massive black spiders. They abandoned the land, swearing it was worthless. But someone disagreed. A new owner purchased the land, unafraid of the spiders and uninterested in the silver. Instead, they began to build something new beneath the surface—sprawling underground halls and plazas. Now, rumors of what they’ve found have reached a great lord: whispers of wagons leaving the mine, not with silver, but with glowing, red gems.
