Bring back the ability to turn grid snapping on and off

Score + 1
Saw closed posts from a few years back, so maybe this is a settled issue, but there are times when I need the grid, but want to allow more than one token in the square/hex at a time. The solution is to make the tokens small and then turn off grid snapping, but that feature doesn't exist anymore. It would be nice if it did.
For the tokens you want to squeeze into a space: right click the token, and under the Advanced Transform menu select "Disable Grid Snapping".

Chauncy, there are a few ways to disable or override grid-snapping in Roll20. You can hold the ALT (option) key while moving the token to ignore snapping temporarily. You can do what Jim described to make that token ignore snapping permanently. Or, third option, under Page Settings you can turn the Roll20 grid off (and if you still want a visual grid but having it off, you can upload maps that have a grid drawn onto them).
