Paladin Smite Macros & questions on how to improve

I've setup a "menu" macro to print a menu of available smites, and added it to my token bar: /w "@{character_name}" &{template:default} This works fine, but sends the gm a whisper ... is there a way to whisper myself? I couldn't figure that out . Solved! thank you. Then each smite is it's own macro, which need to be named exactly as they appear in the menu macro, "DivineSmite" etc., but otherwise don't need to be visible on the token bar: &{template:default} {{Spell Slot=?{Spell slot used|1st (2d8),1|2nd (3d8),2|3rd (4d8),3|4th (5d8),4|5th (6d8),5}}} {{Vs Undead/Fiend?=?{Undead or Fiend?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Crit?=?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Damage=1st (2d8),1|2nd (3d8),2|3rd (4d8),3|4th (5d8),4|5th (6d8),5} + ?{Undead or Fiend?|No,0|Yes,1}) * (1 + ?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}) )d8 Radiant}} &{template:default} {{Spell Slot=?{Spell slot used|3rd (3d8),3|4th (4d8),4|5th (5d8),5}}} {{Crit?=?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Damage=3rd (3d8),3|4th (4d8),4|5th (5d8),5}) * (1 + ?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}))d8 Radiant}} &{template:default} {{Spell Slot=?{Spell slot used|1st (1d6),1|2nd (2d6),2|3rd (3d6),3|4th (4d6),4|5th (5d6),5}}} {{Crit?=?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Damage=1st (1d6),1|2nd (2d6),2|3rd (3d6),3|4th (4d6),4|5th (5d6),5}) * (1 + ?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}))d6 Fire}} {{Ongoing=At the start of each of its turns until the spell ends, the target takes ?{Spell slot used|1st (1d6),1|2nd (2d6),2|3rd (3d6),3|4th (4d6),4|5th (5d6),5}d6 fire damage until it succeeds on a Constitution saving throw.}} &{template:default} {{Spell Slot=?{Spell slot used|2nd (2d6),2|3rd (3d6),3|4th (4d6),4|5th (5d6),5}}} {{Crit?=?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Damage=2nd (2d6),2|3rd (3d6),3|4th (4d6),4|5th (5d6),5}) * (1 + ?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}))d6 Radiant}} &{template:default} {{Spell Slot=?{Spell slot used|1st (2d6),1|2nd (3d6),2|3rd (4d6),3|4th (5d6),4|5th (6d6),5}}} {{Crit?=?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Damage=1st (2d6),1|2nd (3d6),2|3rd (4d6),3|4th (5d6),4|5th (6d6),5}) * (1 + ?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}))d6 Thunder}} &{template:default} {{Spell Slot=?{Spell slot used|1st (1d6),1|2nd (2d6),2|3rd (3d6),3|4th (4d6),4|5th (5d6),5}}} {{Crit?=?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Damage=1st (1d6),1|2nd (2d6),2|3rd (3d6),3|4th (4d6),4|5th (5d6),5}) * (1 + ?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}))d6 Necrotic}} These work like a charm, however I'm not pleased with the visual display. As you can see they use the default template, and I could not for the life of me find any documentation on the roll templates used by the 2024 d&d sheets? Do they exist? I can make the menu macro directly call the spell on the sheet, which allows for selecting the spell level but not for options like criticals or fiend/undead for divine smite. I'd love to keep these macros but have the look of a damage roll from the sheet, particularly with the collapsible details section. Thanks in advance!

For the 2024 sheet, just use the default template. In games where the 2024 sheet is the primary, the template is styled to match the sheet. There are no dedicated rolltemplates for the 2024 sheet, otherwise.

Hi Mike, You can use /w "@{character_name}" instead of /w GM Note: this requires that the macro is in the Character, not in the Collection Tab. Also note that the " " are required to deal with multi-part names.  Alternately, you can just use /w George where George is the characters name but I prefer calling the attribute since that can handle name changes.

I think I misunderstood your comment from before to mean literally use template:default  , but I think what you may have meant is actually that the default templates are all styled to match, so template:dmg  works exactly how I wanted it to (and doesn't actually look anything like the wiki pictures). So if anyone is searching a similar question later, here is one of those smites adjusted to the dmg template which I like quite a bit better: &{template:dmg} {{Spell Slot=?{Spell slot used|1st (2d8),1|2nd (3d8),2|3rd (4d8),3|4th (5d8),4|5th (6d8),5}}} {{Vs Undead/Fiend?=?{Undead or Fiend?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{Crit?=?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1}}} {{dmg1=1st (2d8),1|2nd (3d8),2|3rd (4d8),3|4th (5d8),4|5th (6d8),5} + ?{Undead or Fiend?|No,0|Yes,1}) * (1 + ?{Critical Hit?|No,0|Yes,1})))d8 }} {{charname=@{character_name}}}
