Hi everyone, I'm Stephen a paid DM. I know there are hundreds of DMs out here trying to get your attention so I thought I would try something different and tell you about how I DM, and what you get for your money. First of all a bit about me. I've been DMing for about 12 years. My proudest D&D accomplishments during this time are helping my players become DMs themselves and just finishing a 4 year live campaign where a group of ordinary folk, became heroes and overthrew Asmodeus... Anyway I have made a new campaign setting and looking for players to join me. So how do I DM? My games are role-play heavy and are sandboxes. Its not the kind of game you will be railroaded. There is going to be a lot of threads you can chase and you have to decide how you interact with the world. The thing that is most important to me is I give you space to role-play. That's to say, i'm not always going to be pushing you to move on.. if you need to take an hour or 2 to have an important character moment, I will let it happen. Im not just going to throw in a random goblin encounter interrupting these amazing moments for the sake of it. The other thing is, that although this is beginner friendly and open to everyone this isn't an easy game. I don't believe in "balance". There are going to be some encounters where you are way out of your depth and you need to recognise it. Death is really common in my games, but the most important thing , and the thing that I can promise, is that your choices matter. I really try to make sure your back story and your choices are woven in the story. Lastly, although this game is open to everyone, a lot of people aren't going to like it. and thats ok!!! There are other amazing DMs out there for you!. There are some things as a DM I have hard rules about because I think it makes for a better game experience. Everyone uses both voice and video At the end of every session 1 player volunteers to be the chronicler to describe what happened in the session in their characters voice.. This means at the end of the campaign you have a full campaign diary. Anyway happy to answer any questions you have , and thank you in advance for reading! Just in case you are interested.... Here is the current campaign primer. It is still a work in progress: Sevenfold Realm Campaign Primer Payment Notice: This game will require payment to the Game Master at a rate of $25 per person per session via StartPlaying.
