I'm trying to create a magic item that grants an attuned user the ability to cast Lightning Bolt at 3rd level once per day, recharging at dawn. The relevant post points to "take a look at a Staff of Fire and build it like that." Which, okay, cool, my party (Sorcerer 10) has a Staff of Fire, easy-peasy. Only not so much. When I click directly on the Wall of Fire spell,  "Use Spell Slot" is unchecked, and it says "Level 4 (3/3)." In the Edit -> Advanced dialog, Spellcasting is set to Staff of Fire (Item), and Always Prepared is checked. I don't know what the 3/3 indicates; maybe related to the item's unique charge mechanic? On the sheet where I'm trying to replicate it (Warlock 9, Bard 1), the click-on-spell dialog has "Use Spell Slot" also unchecked, but the "Level" listed is Level 1 (0/0). In Edit -> Advanced -> Spellcasting, there is no option to choose an item, just the character's classes, subclass, and feats. That I can't choose an item would seem to be the core of the problem. Without that option, I can't figure out a way to link the spell to the item. Like the Staff of Fire, the item I'm creating (Electric Guitar) has a Resource > Item Charges > Recharge entry, but this doesn't appear to open anything up. Is there some mechanism for making the guitar an item I can select for the spell? The items aren't a 1/1 match; the Staff of Fire uses a charges-to-cast-specific-spells system, whereas the guitar is a simple cast 1/day, recharging at dawn. I fear this may be complicated because there's a bug on the Warlock/Bard's character sheet: Druid (Magic Initiate) from the character's custom Magical Princess background is listed twice, with different cantrips and the same level 1 spell selected. There seems no easy way to eliminate one without risking locking the player out from being able to edit the selections on the remaining version. Any advice would be appreciated.
