Want to Start Playing

I'm completely new to playing D&D and know the bare minimum when it comes to playing. I have created a character on here that I would like to play as, but that's about it.  After much consideration, I've come to the conclusion that I would like to learn with other beginners that have no real experience playing and a "rule of cool" DM that is more about having fun and appreciates creativity as opposed to one that follows the rulebook as if it's law.  I'm looking for FREE games. If anyone wants to respond about maybe getting a campaign going, shoot me a message. Thanks!
