D&D got Isekai! The Reawakening The sky split open with a blinding pillar of light that washed across the world in a single heartbeat. Cities, highways, and quiet suburbs were swallowed by ancient forests, crumbling ruins, and impossible creatures that had no place in modern reality. When the light faded, the world was no longer just Earth—it was something else, something older… something like a forgotten game brought to life. Ordinary people awoke with arcane sigils burning in their minds, weapons in their hands, spells on their tongues, and the unmistakable feeling that they had become Adventurers. Monsters crawled from newly formed dungeons, kingdoms from another realm bled into our maps, and the laws of reality began to resemble the rules of Dungeons & Dragons itself. Then, just as panic threatened to consume the world, glowing text appeared in the sky before every awakened soul: “Welcome! Sorry I’m late, so let’s start our zero session and go over the rules! lol.” And in that moment, humanity realized the impossible truth—the world hadn’t ended… it had become a campaign. About Me: I’m Wally, or Emperor on discord (over 37,000 hours on Roll20). Email me - walterjcarterjr@gmail.com Or Discord if you prefer, Emperor#9944 I’ll give you a quick summary. I’m 35 from California. I’ve been DMing since 2013. I run many games, including D&D 5e (2014), Star Wars Saga Edition, Shadowrun, Dragon Age, but not exclusively. I’ve run dozens of campaigns and games over the years and still love it. The vast majority of my content is homebrew and unique to my gaming style, although I have borrowed from many sources over the years. The Setting The world ended—and then it restarted under a new set of rules. A blinding wave of light swept across the planet, reshaping reality itself. Cities fused with ancient ruins, monsters began appearing where none should exist, and invisible systems started governing the laws of existence. In the aftermath, certain people awakened, gaining abilities that mirror those of Dungeons & Dragons—magic, martial power, and supernatural skills—transforming them into Adventurers in a world that now behaves like a living game. Dungeons manifest across the globe as dangerous, self-contained zones filled with creatures and treasures, while governments and organizations scramble to control or survive this new reality. A mysterious “System” delivers messages, quests, and progression as if guiding players through a campaign—but no one knows who created it or why. In this new age, humanity stands at the edge of evolution or extinction. The question is no longer whether the world can return to normal… but whether it was ever meant to. https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/441401/dandd-got-isekai-the-rewakening Expectations I run open, sandbox, player-centric original content games. The central theme is established, and the story is there, but these are elements the players choose to engage with, and I let the players write their own tales. I'm excited about the outcome of the players' choices. I do care how the story unfolds for them, although I try to make the most dramatic things happen; the dice and the players' actions are the final arbiters. On that note, I roll everything secretly unless im look to cause a high tense moments, then I'll openly roll. Some of my games are based on themes and ideas I’ve come up with, and the players pick others. I play many different styles of games. I’m open to basically anything. If you have an idea for a campaign, don’t be afraid to present it. I make most of my own maps when I have time and make custom tokens for each player. I detail my loot with the players in mind and richly reward them, be it items, titles, abilities, and feats. I roll randomly, but I like giving out ridiculous loot that makes no sense, in comedic reasons or just as a pure story point, just to see what the player would do with a wish spell or three. Care about the stories and fun we make because were all just wanting to live a different life. Rates Most games will be $20 (minimum) per session, but games with fewer players (fewer than 5), longer games (6+ hours), and higher-level games will have increased costs. $25 per session per player if (fewer then 5 players) $30 per session per player of gameplay (10th-14th level). $35 per session per player of gameplay (20th+ level). Payment is made via Zella Roll20 is not responsible for any payment transactions and cannot enforce any private arrangements. I can also run a session zero if you have a group and want to do a one-shot.
