LFP / Pathfinder 1e / 18+ / Tuesdays at 1 - 5pm Central US (7 - 11pm London Time) / Dark-themed Fantasy Setting

I'm looking for a couple more players to get a Pathfinder 1e group started.  We're either running a homebrew game or an adventure path. I'll be teaching a few new players the rules, so any level of experience is fine, but I'd like to try and find at least one veteran player to help me help the newer players. Please send me a private message and tell me a little about yourself, what you look for in a game, your strengths and weaknesses as a player, any triggers we should avoid, etc.  I would appreciate if you also noted your interest in this post here by saying so, just to keep the thread moving. Assuming we run my planned homebrew, this game is meant to have a darker 18+ tone.  If we decide to run something else, the tone might change.  This is NOT an ERPG, however.
This sounds like a good time. Have sent you a message.
Before I send message when you say Dark Fantasy how dark is it? Can you explain what factors make it dark?

Of course.  But remember that the tone may change depending on who's playing and what game we end up choosing. I want to represent a realistic approach to any setting that contains monsters without it becoming shock horror.  The game currently under consideration is initially themed around a medieval colonial war, so the first concern would be witnessing the horrors of war.  The adventure would take you elsewhere and away from that scene.  Secondly, because of conflicts between different groups (monsters, humans, and other races), there are themes of slavery, murder, slaughter, and sexual abuse, which honestly happens in many of the official Paizo APs anyway. The game also contains many groups of cultists with unsettling practices inspired by actual real world cults throughout history that may bother some players. That all said, there will be no detailed descriptions of anything overtly grotesque or sexual , so I'm not planning on being creepy to my players.  The instances would be mentioned, but such scenes would then be subjected to the "end scene curtain".  If the players have triggers about any of the themes, I would likely remove what makes someone too uncomfortable.

Tyvm for info. Last question what is allowed and isn't allowed for PF1e content to create a character?

Of course.  There will be no 3rd party content allowed, including EitR.  I use a pinch of homebrew rules and prefer when players help homebrew their campaign traits.  There will be some starting bonuses as well, such as background skills and a bonus feat from a list.  We're starting at 2nd level and stat rolls will hopefully be above average (In our official Roll20 game app you'll roll 3 sets for abilities with 4d6; reroll 1s). I'm hoping for relatively simple characters, since 3 of the players have no experience with PF1e.  Everything submitted will need approval, so it's easier to mention the class and archetype you'd like to run and then I'd tell you whether or not it would be acceptable.  The inexperienced players are encouraged to use only the CRB with suggestions from other sources, but that is absolutely not a requirement... just a suggestion for a newbie's sanity.  I allow unchained for rogues and a few other classes.  No occult classes, vigilante, or summoners for sure. Races, however, will be heavily limited due to the theme of the game :  human, half-elf, half-orc, catfolk, dwarf, tiefling, and the four elemental races.  Other races might be approved, but for sure no monster races, lizardfolk, or goblinoids due to story reasons.

Here is some ideas I would play. 1. Human Magus (eldritch scion/archer),  gunslinger (musket master) to make a gun mage. 2. Catfolk Ninja (grappling/bone breaking feats with style feats ascetic style). 3 Human sorcerer/oracle/mystic theurge. 4. Human summoner (master summoner) a minion master build. This one i am pretty sure will be denied tbh. if any of these be OK I will submit a application.
Forgot to mention that this is a no firearms game, despite the colonial setting.  Catfolk ninja and human sorcerer/oracle/mystic theurge would both be acceptable options, provided there are no variant rules used about called shots (the bone breaker feat would be fine). But more importantly, I want to make sure that players and GM are all compatible and that the setting is right for you.  If you'd like to submit something, I'm not taking backstories or character sheets yet.  I only require that you respond with the info I requested in the original post.  I will post something to you soon to make sure you're still interested in the setting.
