Why Don't I Have an Art Library

After finally finding a tutorial on how to add images to one's own personal token set, I went to implement the techniques and found that the Art Library tab the tutorial tells you to click on in a game screen isn't there for me in any game. Why is this and either how do I fix it or how else can I access my Art Library?

Take a look at this wiki page (<a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues</a>) and follow the steps found there. It could be an add on that is not playing nice with roll20 code. If none of the steps 1-3 work please post step 4 here.

Are you the GM of your campaign? If not you will not have the art library tab. If you are please provide a screenshot of your game.
No, I'm not the Game Master for the campaign I'm in, but it seems highly inefficient that only GM's can access their respective Art Libraries and can only do so while in a game. Are you sure there's no other way to look at/add to the data I have stored on this site?
You can also access your library by going to the Roll20 Marketplace and clicking on the "Your Library" link at the top (next to "Browse"). Is that what you were asking or am I misunderstanding?

Reality Glitch , I am not sure I understand the problem. Unless you are the GM you wouldn't be able to place resources (images) on the map even if you had access to your Art Library. If there is something you are trying to do that you need the art library for while you are not the GM could you explain what it is?

That is generally correct and is the intended functionality. Players can't add their own images (maps, tokens) onto your GM's tabletop. Only the GM has that ability (and possibly if you get promoted to Co-GM, I'm not sure if it would work then). In everyone's games it is the GM who drops any token(s) on the board for each Player, and assigns those token(s) to the player(s). The one exception I can think of is the character avatar on your Bio tab, once the GM has made a journal/character and given a Player access to it. In that one place, the Player can directly upload a picture, which will be in the Player's upload library, and will appear in your GM's game on your Bio tab. I can see where it feels inefficient, in that you (a Player) have already uploaded (or possibly purchased) tokens or pictures that you want in the game, and those images are on your account, your art library. Unfortunately it's the intended behavior of Roll20 to only let the GM place the graphics on the tabletop, and only from their own Library or web search, not from another Roll20 user's library. I think it's because, honestly, many games would be hindered if Players could drop new maps or tokens in the middle of the game without GM approval. So in your example situation, the Player would need to email or otherwise message your GM sending them the graphics that you want, and request that they [upload in their library or find the matching image in the web search and] place that token on the tabletop and assign it to you the player.
Does that mean players don't get to make the (figuratively) physical sheets for their character and have to hand the info over to the G.M. and wait for him or her to put it into a sheet then give a player permission to look at it, or am I missing something when you say: Gold said: once the GM has made a journal/character and given a Player access to it.

Gold , yes co-GMs can create maps, tokens, etc in a campaign. Reality Glitch , what Gold means is that a GM creates a character entry in the Journal tab and then assigns control (and permission to view) of that entry to a player. Then the player can populate that character entry with all the character information. However, if you want the ability to import a character then that is what "My Vault" is for. <a href="https://wiki.roll20.net/My_Vault" rel="nofollow">https://wiki.roll20.net/My_Vault</a> . Using the character vault a Supporter or Mentor can transfer characters between campaigns.

Also, I believe the GM still has to assign control of the character to you, even if you import it. This can let them have one final look-over to make sure the character is OK for the campaign.

We were talking about images (pictures, art). I wasn't saying anything about character data, text. I tried to clearly say that the character avatar on the Bio tab is the one place you can upload an image (picture) on your GM's campaign from your uploads. Perhaps that sentence is misunderstood. I don't mean the Gm would fill in your character info. I simply mean that the GM must create an empty slot for you. Then you can put a single picture of your choosing, along with name and other stats of unlimited text. But yes, you are correct in that players must wait for the GM to make a character slot for you & give you permission.
Well, thank you all for your help, I'll be sure to ask again if I have another question.
