What happens to the existing character sheets if I change the selection in my campaign from 3.5e to 5e?

As title states. I have an existing campaign in 3.5e that we're rolling over to 5e. I want to get the 5e character sheets going, but am trying to figure out if I need to export the sheets first to avoid losing them.

Theoretically, you won't loose anything. The issue is wether or not the 5e sheet shares the same attribute names as the 3.5 sheet. My guess is that some attributes will transfer over while MOST others will be unrecognized. I would copy your characters to the character vault, create a 5e campaign and import a character from the vault. Open the character journal and have a look. I think you'll find it best to create new 5e characters manually.
That's what I thought. Thanks! Will check that out and try it.

to be safe, put them in the vault if you have access to it otherwise I would recommend you creating an all new campaign board for your 5e game and inviting everyone to it from your old game.
Just for reference, the sheets imported blank besides the character names.
