New Player Looking For Help

I've always wanted to learn how to play DnD, but never has had anyone to teach me. I'm just looking for someone that could help me create a character, and help me get the basics of the game and anything else needed. I'm EST and avaible most nights. Thanks- Logan
First, you should decide which version of D&D is for you. The few popular D&D games here are Pathfinder, D&D 3.5E, and D&D 4E. Of those, the newest is 4E which is the second or third most popular type of game here.
This link will help you find out the basics. It is for "Pathfinder" which is a common D20 fantasy setting much like Dungeons and Dragons. Pathfinder SRD give it a look, they have a great walkthru on making a toon. Character creation hope this helps Thanks Chuck G

Then you've got many options. In the Looking For Group section, check the box that says " Only find games that welcome new players" and browse the available campaigns. Or, wait for someone to make a post in this forum (they usually state if the game is for newcomers, etc.). Or, wait for someone to reply here with a campaign for you. :)
Well thank you for the info! :)
It might be worth sitting in on some of the live games too so that you can see it in action before you settle on a particular system to pick up. the game a live strem will be outside of your TZ, however, there's a handful of recordings on my YouTube channel from our sessions https://www.youtube.com/user/TheEvoroth?feature=guide Though I'd still like to see more roleplay in those sessions!
Thanks for the link, I'll have to check them out!
