Could we have a Stealth layer in addition to the GM Layer that will only show the token to the player who has a high enough Perception roll to see it?

I'm not sure if there's a way to get it set up through scripts, but I think adding another layer or maybe a checkbox option on a token to reveal that token to only the players who have a high enough stat roll to see it would be pretty great. As far as I can tell, it would only require the players to input their perceptions and for the GM to input stealth scores on tokens. Being to automate the process and not have to stop the game and announce to all the players that something invisible is over here and having to reveal their location would speed the game up a lot and help improve immersion and prevent metagaming.

There isn't a way to do that through scripts (shy of full on page duplication and synchronization). I think there is another suggestion floating about with more votes about having visibility individually configurable, which would support fixing this same issue. (Though it would actually allow for different people to see different things, which having a single Stealth/Perception layer would not.)

Great idea! I've also wanted players to have an option to hide their token from the DM. It's a little quirky, but when the NPC/Monster is unable to pinpoint a player, I want to eliminate all bias. Make me guess a players location for the next fireball!
I don't think this could be done as a layer if it's possible for multiple characters to have different stealth scores or different things contributing to their stealth. That said, it would be cool if you could have it on tokens. Not sure how you'd get it to work if there are multiple ways to not be seen and ways to see through them (e.g. A game with stealth and perception as well as invisibility and see invisible).
Some way to view through the eyes of a single token would make sense as a player ability, and would make the layer idea work better I think. You can already do this as DM by pressing Ctrl+L while selecting a token, why not allow the same for a player?
Yes. I want this.
+1!
