Considering starting a new Pathfinder campaign

I just found this roll20.net thingy here and now I'm considering building and running a Pathfinder campaign to learn how to use the site. What kind of game would some of you be interested in playing? What kind of tools/problems should I expect to come across in campaign building and while running a game? Long story short: let us discuss Pathfinder in conjunction with this site in the hopes that maybe a game idea and a group organically arises from our discussion. Lets skip the part where a bunch of people just reply with "I'm game" or "Message me when you want a player" or any other attempt to reserve a spot in an upcoming game.
Been keen to play a path-finder game as a goblin anti-hero. Maybe follow just behind an established traditional story-arc in which we are constantly trying to harm our "Adversaries" but only pose as a minor annoyance, and never quite catch up to them. Possibly seeking goblin revenge. Lawful evil campaign (Chaotic evil would equate to hey lets kill each other too quickly). Lets be the bad-guys! Problems are the strict hierarchical of lawful evil could significantly detract from some characters role play time. Another bent I'm interested in exploring would be something along the lines of a mystery, not too sure how others feel about it. Mainly role-play and skill use and in-oft seen enemy encounters. In terms of running a game and what problems could develop... Player no-shows, players without reliable audio or video communication (Skype audio conference tends to solve those)... other unforeseen acts of the internet, god and significant others I can give you player perspective on things in a test lobby, just give me a PM.
I have been looking for a regular Pathfinder game for a while now. I can play beginning around 7-8pm EST any weekday. I have been playing a lot of 4e so I really am wanting to play some Pathfinder anything. I do like pirates though, so the new skull and shackles path looks very tempting. Roll20 seems to be very intuitive from what I have seen. Really easy to import all your campaign stuff.
I'm not too certain about the problems you might face as I haven't explored the tools in much depth but from what I've seen they seem really versatile and easy to use. As for what types of games I'd be interested in...I like the mystery setting that Miles mentions above. I like roleplay-heavy games and that could easily fit the bill. I've had fun in pirate settings before, so I'd be game for something like that. I know it isn't Pathfinder, but I love Sigil. I've always wanted to play a game set primarily in a city with a focus on roleplay. Sigil just happens to be the coolest DnD city setting I've seen. :P An evil campaign would be great too. And I'd even play a Cleric for that one! Race-specific campaigns can be interesting. A no-magic, yay-psionic campaign is something else I've always wanted to see, and there's some quality psionic books for PF by Dreamscarred Press. I'll continue thinking of things, this is just off the top of my head.
My roomy and I have been kicking around a race/class restricted paleolithic campaign using pathfinder. The race restriction would be decided by players, but we thought it could be pretty fun to play. Something else which I think I'd enjoy would be a D20 Modern Zombie campaign (A friend is considering running one)... problem with this one is that fighting zombies can get boring. Someone at dndwiki wrote up variant rules for it, pretty good one's I'd say. http://www.dandwiki.com/wiki/Zombie_Rules_(D20_Modern_Variant_Rule). If going for a more realistic portrayal would want to change up the hp rules to a vital point/wound type system. http://www.d20srd.org/srd/variant/adventuring/vitalityAndWoundPoints.htm Change those rules slightly: Vital points and wound points gained each hit die based on constitution modifier with a minimum of 1 (Otherwise you're still beastly powerful) Or could auto-provide 1/3-1/2 HD to vital points and con mod as wound points. If people were to play this you'd want to have a few back-up characters handy.
I want to play Pathfinder. I've never played, made characters before for a campaign that has yet to take off, and all of the games I'm in as of right now (Mostly Shadowrun, I GM a game of Ad Eva) are on hold right now.. I'm aching to play something, and I'd be up for whatever you're willing to throw at me if you let me play. I've never really been into fantasy all that much, but would like that to change. To Miles' last comment - Something else which I think I'd enjoy would be a D20 Modern Zombie campaign (A friend is considering running one)... problem with this one is that fighting zombies can get boring. All Flesh Must Be Eaten is so much better than D20 Modern for this. If you want hard-mode you play as civilians, not survivors. I would really recommend it. I don't know what would be a good campaign for PF, really. Maybe just stereotypical loladventurin' would be fun.
Pathfinder seems really good. If your just starting out why not run one of the many adventure paths or Modules Pathfinder has. It looks easy to use the maps and handouts etc in roll20 from there PDF's. Less work for you as everyone tries to figure out how best to use this tabletop.

I was pondering today and I was thinking something that might be fun is a game set in a relatively small area (like one city) with two parallel groups against one another. If your just starting out why not run one of the many adventure paths or Modules Pathfinder has. If you meant me, I'm not just starting out, I've played and run loads of pathfinder. Maybe just stereotypical loladventurin' would be fun. That's what my group and I are going right now, with the bitty twist that we're rotating GM duty. Like you might imagine it's not a very deep story at all, just 4 dudes seeking adventure and treasure, but it's still lots of fun and we get to do something different all the time.
I was pondering today and I was thinking something that might be fun is a game set in a relatively small area (like one city) with two parallel groups against one another. My old roommate had an idea like that. I always liked the sound of it (see my desire to play a city-based campaign above) and felt that there were tons of possibilities for various nifty interactions between the PC groups. A basic, but rich idea is to have a group of PC thieves opposed by a group of PC thiefcatchers/lawmen/etc.
If the stereotypical adventure campaign model gets a bit too boring we could always go for a "kidnapped princess" schtick. No one does that any more.
Or *we* could kidnap the princess.
That too.
Jeff. I think we are in a similar situation. Okay, I have been playing Pathfinder regularly and just joined. I have found pulling in maps is pretty easy. There is a problem with adjusting maps with existing gridlines and getting them the right size can be tricky. The fog of war is somewhat tricky, so pulling an existing map from your pathfinder AP pdf and blacking out what you don't want seen isn't as easy as I first thought. Anyway, the DM has some work to do here. He should have all maps with the tokens ready to go for each encounter. My recommendation is to come up with a story, scope a few encounters with the map and tokens ready to go, and link them together to complete the story. If you want a forest battle, you can search for forest maps in the search window and drag in forests without gridlines. That way you can make them whatever size you want. My $.02
