ads still showing

I have signed up under the mentor program but still see ads f rom deal factory. i thought the ads were supposed to be eliminated??? Why do i still see them.?
I suspect that like at least one other person before you, the ads you are seeing aren't coming from roll20, but from a virus or adware on your computer. If you post your console log, someone else could probably confirm.
Also, if you didn't intentionally post that link to deal factory as PROGRAM, that would be a pretty good indication you have things on your computer you shouldn't.

Fubar, run an anti-virus scan first to see if you have any virus. A dev discovered a member that posted something similar had an adware virus. Now if nothing comes up on that, can you follow steps 1-3 from https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues ? If you can not resolve your problem then can you perform step 4 and post it in this thread? I will move this thread to the bug & technical forum.

Pat (Mod) please take a second look and see if you can delete the "ShoppingDealLink" ad-link from Fubar's original post. That's an indicator of a virus / adware, which could possibly spread if people click the link.

That was first thing I did prior to moving it. I just went back in and did a complete unlink on it. It was originally prior to the move a blank URL.

Ug. I just went though this exact problem with one of my sons' computers. (Price chopper in my case.) This is the site whose removal guide I followed successfully (though this link is for the deal factory issue): http://malwaretips.com/blogs/shopping-deal-factory-removal/ I also had to remove this file to keep the browser extension from reinstalling after all the other steps were done: C:\Documents and Settings\%USERNAME%\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Preferences Good luck!

Like you said, you'd probably already unlinked it when I saw it. It still had a mouse-over that popped up a site name, which caught my attention. Thanks for taking care of such things.

I did a complete brain fart when I moved the post and forgot to full unlink that url.
i will do my best to run a full virus scan but it may have something to do with chrome as i get an amazing number of popups when using chrome but nothing when i use Opera. But i need chrome to run roll20. willl double check but i get the same thing as was posted by @Gold. as of today it was still there will run the full scan this afternoon. I am using IOBIT as my virus scan perhaps i shold try a different system but it works fine on everything else. Tried to download Adblocer+ for chrome but it wont let me install it. I have Adblocker on Opera and Maxthon and theres no problem there. will post anything i get after i clean house. Thanks everyone

Fubar, check your extensions/plugins also. There has been a rash of unintended installs that act like adware along with more virus coming out. Step 2 tells you how to find the plugin/extensions if you don't know how: https://wiki.roll20.net/Solving_Technical_Issues#Step_2:_Ensure_that_there_are_no_extensions.2Faddons_interfering_with_Roll20
@Pat S. I did a full virus scan and malware scan and they were still showing up and popping up everytime i clicked on something so i went to the extensions and plugins and found a ton of stuff i never knew i downloaded. Thank You Pat youe have totally cleared up my problem both in Roll20 and Chrome. (well as far as those ads are concerned) LOL
