New Player looking to play his first TTRPG (DnD 5e pref)

Hello, I have never played a tabletop rpg before. I am currently in possession of the starter set and core rule book for DnD 5th edition. I am looking for anyone or any group of people willing to take me in and help break me into the scene. I enjoy character creation, role playing, and world development. I am willing to learn how to play any game though I currently only have the resources I mentioned prior. It would be greatly appreciated if I could find assistance of any kind, thank you.
what times are you free?
9:00 Am to 5:00 Pm EST (GMT-5) on weekdays and pretty much any time on weekends.
ok next big question... Are you only interested in 5th Edition. I DO run 5th Ed, but I'm als working on an article series for my blog calls 12 Games in 12 Months so each month we learn a new game. We meet up and form kind of a study group to learn the game together from noon till 5PM EST though I'm on as early as 7AM working myself.

If you're interested here are the games that won for the year. ( http://gmtable.blogspot.com/2014/12/the-results-are-in.html )They aren't in a particular order, but I can say we are all getting ready to learn Fate Core this month. The book is pay what you want on Drive-through RPG
I own the 5e core rulebook but I am willing to learn others as long as there is no heavy financial investment. The only games I am not interested in from that list are the marvel and ghost buster games.
ok well if you're interested send me a private message and I'll send my skype info over. I have it all set up where my players will nto need to invest anything finacially I don't like forcing that on players
Oh also if you don't like some of the games that's fine just sit out that month. A decent sized community is building so there's no pressure to be involved in everything.
