Fate campaign idea discussion.

Hello, I'd like to hold this forum for discussing ideas for doing a possible Fate campaign in the future. The reason I want to discuss it is because it will not function like a normal campaign. This will be a competitive game set in the world of the Fate anime series. I've always thought stories like Battle Royal, Hunger Games, and Fate/Zero had great role-playing potential, and would make for a fun and unique game. However I also know it would be extremely difficult to pull off, so I'm making this forum so people can voice their opinions and maybe even help make this happen. For those that don't know what Fate is here is a quick snippet from the wiki. "The Fate series is a TYPE-MOON media collective that follows various events called Holy Grail Wars that involve Masters, generally accomplished magi, summoning Servants, Heroic Spirits, and battling each other until the last remaining pair can claim the purported Holy Grail. It began with the visual novel, Fate/stay night , and has since gathered a number of prequels, sequels, spinoffs, and adaptations bearing the same "Fate" name." P.S. If we are to play it would be with the Fate role-playing system. Fate the anime is what it'll be based on. They are both called fate but are very different I hope you don't get confused.
So, are you saying the campaign will be PvP only? Very little cooperation between PCs?
If we do it based on the Fate series, it would be a mix, as everyone would be placed in teams of two. Though NPCs could fill any empty spaces, and if this discussion points to it being necessary, other forces of danger could be added to make everything more interesting.
How do you plan to run the games since the players will not be cooperating? Will every player be present at every moment even if their characters are not there? Would players be present when other PC teams are planning against them?
It will function as a large continuous world. Teams would play at the same time, and it would greatly utilize the whisper function. If all runs smoothly players should ONLY be aware of other players when their characters are. The only difficulty would be me trying to keep an eye on everything. If that proves to much I may be forced to get a secondary GM to help. I also may add NPC teams just to add a bit more story and keep the game from stalling.
I've always been wondering if a pvp campaign can work.. (I mean with some roleplaying) Let it happen please :D
Same , I do imagine if it were to work for anything it would be in the Fate system. I'm going to start working on one to play with my friends soon. If it works I'll bring it to this site.
Wow Iv'e been thinking about literally this exact same thing recently. I love the fate series and I feel like a RP of it would be an exstreamly interesting challenge. Yeah It seems it would be much essayer done through text. Personally I'm not a big fan of text. I'd wondered about maybe using an application like team speak or mumble with 8 or so channels and multiple gms that can jump through them. There would be one channel for each team. The teams would merge into one channel for encounters and there would be a channel for to collaborate GMs. The GMs would need to Have a map of Fuyuki City. With markers on it indicating the location of each team. Thatway Gm of to different teams could both recognize when they where coming within proximity of one another. On this screen GMs would also need to synchronize the current in game time. Thing is It would be hard to keep the game running at a decent pace. Unless we had several gms one for each teams the team will have to wait around for a gm to come and resolve their choice of actions. I think that it's possible that some minor things could be resolved through text even in a chat game. Thus making this a mix of voice and chat approach to the problem. Another interesting topic in the Fate series is how we divide up things like the servants classes. As far as the mages go fate series is know to have Clueless kids going of against Masters Magicans with meany gerations of bagical blood bbacking them up.
