Hi! I've had the idea to run something like this for a while. Going forward from here, the campaign will be similar to The West Marches in structure. Basically, there's a few key concepts. 1) No regular time. You guys will schedule sessions (with me) when you can. We might end up with multiple GMs to make scheduling easier. 2) No regular party: I'll be inviting more players over time, going up to about 10-15. Each group will be about 3-5 people. This lets you play whenever you have the time to, rather than conform to a scheduled time. 3) No defined plot. You as players decide what you want to do. There will be a few things you'll know in advance, but if you say "I want to head up to the capital to see what that's all about" you can put together a group to check that out. If that sounds interesting to you, feel free to check out the LFG listing (link removed) over here and see if it's to your liking.

Intriguing. What will this do to the roleplay, though? I assume it'll be very crunchtastic without an overaching plot? Will the world be ultimately dictated by player decisions? I like the benefits you've stated already, though. A lot of games simply fall apart because of changing work/school schedules. The only issue is that I still want character development and roleplay, not just a combat tactical. Will this be possible?

Oh yeah, definitely. I am no particular fan of the crunch, so you won't see any more of that than you'd expect from a normal session. The story will be more episodic in nature, with an overarching narrative that spans all groups. Player decisions will definitely influence the world, and, with effort put in the right places, some drastic changes can be made.
Well, I've posted in the campaign forum itself. Hopefully, we all have a good time. I'm looking forward to playing as frequently as possible. I focus majoritively on character development and interaction with the other party members and the world. I enjoy crafting immersive backstories for my characters too.

Great! You sound like my kind of player!
WOW, reading through everything about the West Marches, it sounds awesome...Really sound as if done right, players will keep coming back for more. I would be very interested, depending on if Some of the play times we would arrange could fit my schedule. I will post in the game forum... Now I need to get the 5e rules.
I've been watching the West Marches as well and this sounds great, but I can't find anything about new players. Would you welcome those as well or do you prefer people with experience?

At the moment, we have all the players we need, but it looks like this thread is doing something similar. I would advise checking that out.
I saw the thread, unfortunately he also has all the players he needs. Oh well, if it so happens that a spot opens up or you widen the player pool please keep me in mind.
