Steampunk campaign needs players. D&D 3.5e, 7pm CST Fridays.

Time: Friday, 7 PM CST. Players: 4-5. Communication: Skype, Roll20. Prequisites: Microphone, speak clear English, basic RP ability. Disclaimer: I'm a brand freaking new GM. As the title says, I'm hoping to run a steampunk campaign based on D&D 3.5e. Plenty of homebrew rules and fun stuff like airship combat. But, I've never GM'd anything before in my life. The campaign will be more of a fun time than 'here's story, go do it'. There will be a main story, but the party can derail as hard as they want. A few things to note. 1. Magic. I'm only allowing one primarily magic class (bard, wizard, sorcerer, cleric, druid), and at half the amount of spells they normally have. For other classes with spells, they'll only get one spell of each level. This is mainly because of the world, but also because magic gets kind of op. 2. Levelling. I hate hate hate experience crawls, and my main goal is to make the PCs feel epic, so levelling will be quicker than normal. 3. First session will encompass character creation, so don't make one beforehand. However, come with at least a concept. 4. New players welcome. But, experienced players are also welcome so that people can yell at me when I get rules wrong. 5. Speaking of rules, I'll try not to make this a rules heavy campaign. This is an RPG, not a war game like 40k. Pausing to look up a rule every 5 minutes will really bog things down. That's about it. If you have any questions just put a comment here or PM me. If you're interested post a comment with whatever info you feel is important, I'll be picking people Wednesday evening.
Would you be willing to help someone learn how to play the 3.5 system? I understand the concept of tabletop and did manage to play a short bit of a campaign here at home, but I've taken to roll20 to try to get to know the game and the mechanics better. The steampunk aspect of your game is appealing to me. Are you going to be using any special program for communication (Skype or anything of that nature)? I'm not sure if I have a working mic at the moment. At the worst, I have Skype on my Xbox One and can use that, but I haven't looked into communication options on my weak little laptop, because I'm rather shy at speaking online with new people. It's intimidating to me. :(
Hi, saw the want ad, would love to play. If you're still looking for a player hit me up at tucker.tomlinson48 on skype. Have mic and camera if need be, and have years of rp under my belt. Would love to play and would be happy to help out in any way. Hit me if if you want me man. Always have skype open so any time.
Extremely interested! I've been playing D&D for a while now and have been looking fervently for a steampunk-themed campaign! If you're still looking for players, feel free to PM me here or add me on Skype @ thecolortwelve (or both lol). I would love to play with you, especially with you being a new DM, simply because I want to be one of the players to make your beginning experience as epic as you'd like it to be. I really hope to hear from you soon!
