
So, i had theidea for roll20 while watching The West Marchs on youtube. The way it works, is you use 5e DnD, you use a sandbox style setup of a world, then the party forms. If the same 4-5 show up each week then no need to rotate, if you only want to come once then come once. If somone is not here, we can just grab somone else from the "pool" of players, if we want to play on a different day and only 2 can make it, we can replace the two. In the end games would be 4 or so players, out of a pool of maybe 10 or so. As long as we can string together 4 people we can play. If party A goes to Cave B and has a goblin adventure, then when Party C comes by to Cave B its still there. Its how the west marches runs among a small group of youtube friends, and i think it could work for roll20.
