[bug] Ability order on character sheets

Character sheets in my game will not hold their order placement. I rearrange them and they randomly reset their order.

Perhaps you can clarify the problem? To my knowledge, Character sheets cannot be rearranged except by changing the names of the sheets.  - Gauss 

Sorry I forgot part of a sentence due to family interruption and didn't catch it. Let me explain it better. I have a list of abilities on the sheet Now I drag them into the order I want them to be on the character sheet and save it but when I open it back up, the abilities are randomly shifted in their order. I had stat check macros grouped together, saving throws grouped together, etc. and save it  but when I open it up again, they are all mixed together in random order.

Ahhh the ability order bug. :) Normally this is seen on character sheet duplicates. Can you give any indication on how it is happening? Any steps to reproduce on my end? - Gauss

Ah.. It is the duplicates it happens to. I didn't know that. That would explain it then. I build a base sheet and then duplicate it for my players. This now explains why those sheets won't hold their ability order. Thanks for clearing it up. Any info on if it is going to be fixed and when?

No info, that is up to the Devs but it is a very recent bug. I will post this thread in the bug report. :) - Gauss

I have run into the same issue. I created a template for my players to use when making their characters, and the order of attributes always gets jumbled up. One suggestion: allow the DM to set a default character sheet ( see here for an example of what I mean) for the whole campaign.

Hi Gauss Could you check when this will be fixed? I just created a new template character sheet for BRP with 50+ abilities and the order was jumbled the next time I opened it (and I can't work out what the 'sort criteria' is). The grouping is significant in some (optional) BRP rules so I want it preserved.  BTW This is on the original template not on copies.

The bug you posted was fixed. OK Gauss. This may be the newer bug. I created all of the abilities in the regular order for BRP and I may have moved the last few before saving. When I opened the template the next day the abilities were reordered. I don't see any pattern in how they were jumbled.

They get re-jumbled in the order in which they were created. In short, if you create A, then B, then C, resulting in a starting order of (A, B, C), and move B after C, making the correct order (A, C, B), they will re-order according to the order they were created in. This should be apparent if you look back on your Character Sheets. Also, this is not the only thread that contains this bug. There are SO MANY things wrong with the Character Sheets that even remembering them all is a bit of a nightmare. Hopefully, reinventing the whole system from scratch will be easier than trying to repair what simply doesn’t work.

I was having the same problem, but it appears to have been fixed (at least for me). I have also tested duplicating the character sheets, and closing and relaunching the campaign and my browser (Chrome) to verify they are still in order upon return. The order is maintained now in all tests.
