(EUROPE) LF players for D&D 3.5 homebrew - newbies welcome! "The Legend of Llewdor"

UPDATE: Recruitment closed for now, slots will open up later. If you want an engaging, interesting and challenging experience, this might be the game for you. Anything is allowed, no question is too silly, and having fun is the ultimate goal. About me : I've played D&D for years, and have an offline group that I also play with weekly. You don't need anything to join my campaign, other than a microphone and a good mood. I'm in GMT+1 and will be playing from about 18:00, weekly. I'll announce a sensible time and day of the week, then we'll chat in the game channel one week in advance until we all agree on a day. I'm Norwegian and have a slight accent, but my spoken English is excellent. The campaign : Features : - D&D 3.5 core, flexible to your needs. - Interesting, different and unique story. No maidens to rescue, no kings in need of help from strangers. You'll need a heart AND a brain. - A dynamic, living world that changes with time, whether you're there to watch it happen or not. This is a non-linear, sandbox campaign. - Stories and quests suited to your characters. - Complete freedom of choice. Go ahead, punch the bar patron with a fishing rod, see what happens! ;) - Plenty of locations and maps to explore. Setting : The setting and story is highly expansive, unique, and most importantly tested! I've played this campaign with my offline group for over 1 year, and the response is very positive. You can alter events in a real and meaningful way, or not do anything at all - the choice is yours. Depending on your choices however, you could end up in a living hell, or Nirvana. Pelacis: Your home. It's a dry, desolate and hopeless place. The edge of the world is no longer visible to us mere mortals. Days grow shorter. Dust clouds and hurricanes taunt us from a distance, and hinder any movement to the outer regions. What have we done to earn the hatred of the Gods? Human legions covered in metal and dust roam the land, enforcing the law with merciless precision. Without them we would be truly lost. Is there hope among the rulers of the land? Those in power have long since carved their destiny from the flesh of the common folk and disappeared behind brick and mortar. Rumors of surreal massacres, and of strange creatures, have begun spreading. Communication between important trade hubs is broken, and food has become scarce. People are turning against tradition and history, against the King, against everything you've ever known to be real.. You wander towards Pelacis, the vast epicenter of the Empire, in hope of finding answers.. YOU : Have a microphone. Be a role-player. You need a character from among the core classes. Here's a simple char. gen.: http://dnd3rd.sourceforge.net/ Send me a PM with your email if you want to be added to the campaign, or do a search for this campaign.
Hey. I'm a bit of a D&D noob, played a couple of games of Pathfinder but that's been about it. I'd be interested in joining though depending on the day.
I'm interested but never played 3.5 D&D , I've played several pathfinder games and know it pretty well so I assume I should be able to adapt easily.
I'm interested. Im a newbish D&D player and I want to play more. I played a bit with my wife and some friends but the wife did not enjoy the experience. There aren't many local players where I am so I am looking to play with an online group. I'll PM you.
I am interested, I think I found your game and left you a comment, so I hope I can get involved!
I'm an experienced DM. Never been a player. Would absolutely love to be involved in this.
i'd be down to play if you still have room
i would be interested in playing if your game will run on a monday i have plenty of exp with 3.5
Hi again folks. Thanks for the great response! I'll start sending out invites soon. To anyone new to D&D: your ability to role-play or entertain is infinitely more important than your knowledge of the rules. With a good DM, you can get through fine without even knowing what D&D is. There will be challenging battles, but clever diplomats and nimble rogues may be able to avoid most of them. I recommend players to use microphones, as most of the important interaction will be dialogue-driven. Once you join, I'll help you set up a character and we'll get to know each other. Note that two of the players in the game currently are observers, real-life friends of mine.. Which means that you can still apply to join the campaign.
I have had old D&D experience been over 20 years and would love to find a team to play with. I will have to try get back familiar and would love to be in your group
I'm interested. Never played DnD before however, I signed up to this site to try it as I'm very interested. The most roleplay experience I have is on World of Warcraft and other MMO's for a few years.

I may not be able to compete with your vintage nostalgia, and we won't have the luxury of playing in a dimly lit room with a physical battle map, and a DM you can punch.. ;) Online D&D is not the same experience. I think I'm capable as a DM, and I focus on an engaging story, characters, plot twists and interesting combat. There will be very little time dedicated to skimming the rule book and making sure you didn't move 5ft too far.. Craig M. said: I'm interested. Hey, it's great that you're interested in role-playing, send me a PM any time. This is a more enriching hobby than video games. World of Warcraft is to D&D as a movie is to a book.. One of the problems with D&D 4e and modern RPG's is that they try to emulate modern MMO's. They try to make things seem realistic and accurate, when the true magic of D&D is subtlety and suggestion. It has been proven that blind people have a stronger sense of taste, smell and hearing. That's because the visual cortex dominates other sensory input. Try reading a book while someone's dancing in front of you. In short: D&D is co-operative storytelling. Your voice carries the story.
Hello Morten, I played D&D a few years ago on a vacation-trip and loved it! Back home i bought the 3 rule-books but i have been struggling since then to put a group together. Right now, i am at work so i cant tell you which Version it was, but i think it was 3.5. Don't expect me to know to much about the specific rules, however am familiar with the mindset of "co-operative storytelling in a game to have fun". And i love role-playing - to a point where i am not satisfied with the role-playing aspects of most computer games because they are limited. I think I fulfill your requirements and would like to apply to join your group, if there is still space left. Do you need more information from me? For example my field of work, my age, or a character sheet from the site you linked? Don't think I am crazy for asking, I am just surprised that you don't require a more detailed application. A PM whit my mail-address should be in your inbox. Florian.S
Hello Florian. To answer your question, I think almost everyone on this site is over 18. Being familiar with the rules isn't important, unless you're a wizard who casts burning hands on the defensive and tries to grapple an ooze. ;) Playing D&D offline is very different from online, but I think you'll like it. From now on we'll be looking for a European player. There's still room..
Hei Morten. I am a fellow norwegian that would love a game to join, I havent played DnD 3.5 but a bit of Pathfinder. I do some 3.5e books. Sent a PM. T. Nicolay T.
Never played 3.5 before, but definitely am intrested in joining. In fact, this is the first D&D game for me but I'll try to do my best. I live in finland which makes it GMT+2. Usually I play lightheartedly in games, please, let me join if there's room for one more.
Hello Morten. I would be very interested in joining your campaign. I have been involved with roleplaying for a very long time. I got my start in D&D back in my college days when D&D first came out. I have played up to AD&D 2.0. Recently I have started playing Pathfinder, which I understand is very similar to 3.5. I am in the EU and would be very interested in playing a wizard or sorcerer if you still have space, I have left you a PM with my contact info. Thank you.
Hello Morten, OK tried to leave you a PM but for some reason that did not work. You can contact me on Skype at countrychef1957 or at rc1957@hotmail.de .
