Checking on interest in a modified 2E Greyhawk campaign. It will be based off a campaign being played on tabletop since the 1980s. Gameplay will be a mix of combat/roleplaying/bookkeeping. I'll list some details and we'll see if any interested is piqued. The story will be adapted to the goals of the players, with some modules being run from time to time. Campaign Setting: World of Greyhawk Timeline: Campaign will start in the year CY362, shortly after Yolande is chosen to lead Celene Starting Date: 4-19(ish) Campaign is ready, just need bodies :) Starting Area: Campaign will start focused on the west side of the map(Furyondy, Celene, Veluna, Vesve) Session Times: Any day after 5PM EST, excluding Saturdays. Number of players: 4 to begin campaign, up to 8 if recommended by a founding player Source Materials - Any races/kits/classes/proficiencies/spell/etc from the following will be considered for player use(necromancers restricted): World of Greyhawk campaign setting Players Handbook 2E All 2E Class Books All 2E Race Books(excluding underdark races) Arms and Equipment guide High-Level Campaign(when applicable) Legends and Lore Monster Mythology Players Option: Combat and Tactics, Skills and Powers, Spells and Magic Tome of Magic Sages and Specialists Dragon Magazines 1-335 and annuals Priests Spell Compendium Wizards Spell Compendium Forgotten Realms - Demihuman Dieties(where applicable) Forgotten Realms - Powers and Pantheons(where applicable) Oriental Adventures House rules, a primer (some, but not all) - No limit on demihuman levels. Demihumans have experience requirements adjusted by a percentage to offset their advantages with the highest weight placed on lifespan. Combat: A modified proficiency system will be used for combat. A short example: Longsword Proficiency 1 prof, +1 to hit or damage(chosen by player) 2 profs, +1 to hit, +1 to damage 3 profs, An additional +1 to hit or damage (chosen by player) .... up to 6 profs(level 9 required), +3 hit, +3 damage, critical possible on a 19 or 20. To score a critical hit, a player must first roll a 19 or 20, then roll another d20. Should the player meet what he needs to normally hit, a critical is inflicted. Magic: A magic point system will be used in place of memorization requirements with some safeties in place to prevent abuse. Yes, you may be eventually able to cast two death spells in a row, but there will be a price. No generalist clerics. Only specialty priests have access to divine power. Secondary and tertiary characters: Players may choose to have a secondary character which gains 50% of his main characters xp, and a tertiary that gains 25%. This is for the player to be able to reasonably continue the campaign should he lose his main. Secondary and tertiary characters need not be made in advance as long as the player and DM have access to the available pool. If you are interested, please feel free to contact me. Some of this might seem overwhelming to a newer player, but it really isn't. Once the base mechanics are understood you are good to go. I have a lot of material, adventures, and ideas gathered over the last 30 years the tabletop campaign has existed to run with. This campaign will be open-ended with no definitive ending date. As long as I have players, I will keep the campaign going. If you are looking for a long-term campaign to be a part of, have the time to play, and are really looking to be part of a great story, feel free to get in touch!
Sounds great but I do not have any 2nd books. I only have 1e books. I started playing D&D with the 1e books and not moved away from those yet)
http://www.canonfire.com/wiki/index.php?title=Greyhawk is a good place to familiarize yourself with the setting/timeline. As for the other stuff it would probably be necessary to grab pdfs of some of the core material.

Bump, I'll be getting back to everyone who has private messaged me/posted on the campaign forum this Sunday. Still a couple open spots, if you are interested feel free to contact me with a character concept/time you are available. Looking to get characters rolled soon. 2-3 spots still open. Initial campaign is going to be low-tech and will try to stay as true to tabletop as possible. Macros not needed.
Bump Have room for one, maybe two more magic user types(arcane or divine). First session next week, wed or thurs 8pm ish EST.

Have room for two. Starting next Wednesday(15th) at 8pm EST. Feel free to drop me a private message with a character concept!
How is the game run? Is it on Google Hangouts? Skype? Just text in the main Roll20 page? What's allowed from the Skills & Powers? Are players allowed to build their characters with character points?
Steve H. said: How is the game run? Is it on Google Hangouts? Skype? Just text in the main Roll20 page? What's allowed from the Skills & Powers? Are players allowed to build their characters with character points? Google Hangouts. We have a rolling system for characters based off their race and class. Not using character points at this point, Skills & Powers is mostly used for the kits and some combat stuff (profs, weapon specialization, fighting styles etc) Still have room, first session is 1 week from today April 15th
I'd be interested in possibly playing a Sylvan Elf Archer Kit (Horse Archer Fighting Style).
Well, since you're looking for casters a fire elementalist or a monk could be fun.
