LF D&D Group / Weekly / Open Minded! :)

Greetings all! My name is Matt. I'm a 28 year old male that is looking for a weekly D&D group. Preferably 5th edition because it's the one I have the most experience with, however I'm willing to give the prior versions a shot. I can play any time or day during the week, and ready to play immediately. I'm also open minded when it comes to how you want your campaign to be ran. Just let me know what you want, and I can adapt. I am punctual, and dependable. I will never miss a session. I will always give a warning before hand if I can not make it, however I've never missed a session yet. I'm kind of a nerd, and D&D is like the most exciting part of my week XD! While I'm playing, I can be pretty serious or whimsical depending on the party. In one hand I enjoy being silly, or goofy. But I also like to progress through campaigns with minimal wasted time. At the end of the day I just love to have fun. I want to immerse myself into a fantasy world, and be forced to think. I enjoy problem solving, and combat encounters equally. Though who doesn't love when it's clobberin' time? I'm not a huge RPer, but I can do my best to speak out all my actions, and my dialogue if that is preferred. I don't do voice acting though, and I don't sing when I'm a bard. :P haha When I RP I have found that Neutral characters are boring. Being a sociopath, and deciding to be good or bad when it suits me isn't really fun. It feels like there's no weight to my choices, and it's way too easy to be evil or to steal when tempted. With that said, I either enjoy being one of the evils, or lawful good. With Lawful good, you have to try really hard to resist the urge to steal, and harm the innocent. You also get to torture your fellow party members by being "that guy" who stops them from slight of handing everyone they see. :P I have experience with multiple classes, and races. I have a Level 5 Wood Elf Monk, Level 4 Human Bard, and my most recent one is a Level 2 Dragon Born Fighter. I find that I do better with the simpler classes. The less spells, the better. I'm not a super big fan of looking at a spell list, trying to keep track of how many I can use, and which one is best for which encounter, AND how to optimize my action, and bonus actions. It's way more enjoyable for me to just run up, and smash things in the face. I am open minded, so if you think your group is extreme or may alienate most people... Then give me a chance? :D I am fairly tolerant, and can usually adapt to fit in. I can use any VOIP / Voice Software that is required of me. I would prefer not to use a webcam, but if it's mandatory. I can always give it a try. I'm one ugly MFer though. :P Message me if you're interested, or reply here! :) Thanks for your time!
bump :D
i would love to join mi time zone is GMT summer time (GMT+1) if you don't mind a noob and also if star ate lvl 1 would be lovely dips on the dwarven cleric
This sounds great to me. I would gladly join this group. I have a lot of experience with D&D4e, but im willing to give it a go with 5e. I have started reading into that one anyway, since that seems to be the most popular here. I have both player and DM experience, but both are from offline play. I don't mind filling either role, but my roll20 smarts are limited for now. My timezone is gmt+1, same as ayoub b. You seem like a fun player, and I hope that we can try to form a group here.
I think Matt is a gamer, seeking a group. Matt, Ayoub B, and Marc W. I am going to be running a serious not too much comedy & not goofy at all: A Song of Ice and Fire RPG 2012 Game of Thrones Edition by Green Ronin Based on the Novels by George R R Martin, and the HBO TV Show. Knowing the show or novels would help, but it's not a requirement. It's a sort of dark ages medieval setting, not a lot of plate armor, but a lot of wild tribes in the far north, and 5 great kingdoms that struggle for dominance and power. Combat is very deadly, so it doesn't happen a lot. Wednesday 12 PM EDT (East coast US) This makes it about 6 PM GMT+1. We have three players already. One American, One UK, One Austrian. To play you would need Need Skype for voice in English, no Cam needed. It is lots of roleplaying and heavy narrative style though, meaning it is not D&D style hack and slash, killing for XP. you get XP for making the game as it plays into a better overall story, and working with the members of your house to survive all of the many and varied story challenges that the world throws at you. It's not about combat, it is about working as part of a Game of Thrones Banner House that the players create. The main challenges will be outwitting enemy Non-player characters trying to maneuver to bring down your family and house holdings, and make them fail or collapse through politics, treachery, spies, sabotage, etc. The play is as if the characters were a side story from the TV show, except we never have seen them on screen. There are Game of Thrones events, but it is the story of the characters, their lives, and how they grow and change. If you wanted to play a knight, or a squire or a noble guardsman, swordsman or fighter that's cool, but the combat system is pretty deadly, so there are not a lot of fights. When there are fights, it is easy to get killed. When you are not fighting if you were a warrior, you'd be portraying checking on the troops, rooting out spies, executing disloyal troops, guarding higher ups, riding on patrols of your lands. and other non combat stuff that an officer or noble with troops would do. There is not a lot of magic. Dragons and such are super rare. Again, if you are familiar with the show, or Novels, it's like that. It will be a very serious game, with lots of in game consequences if things go wrong for the characters. Like the TV show. Accents are not a problem, but the game will run in English. If interested, Here's a link to the thread on LFG, or please PM me. https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1832102/soiaf-rpg-game-of-thrones-wed-12-pm-edt-6-pm-austria-seeks-3-or-4-players#post-1832474
