Finding old posts

I'm new to roll20. A GM has left me a message in reply to a LFG message I left. I clicked on the post once, it disappeared, and I can't seem to find it in my "Welcome" area. Help.

You can find any of your own posts by clicking on your name (top right) and going to your profile, then either select 'View Topics' or 'View Replies' to see your personal activity (this work on other peoples profiles too to find stuff they've done). Also you can click on your name (top right again) and select 'Private messages' to see if the remembered post was part of a private conversation. Hope that helps

Zierchael , it sounds like Rich is trying to find one of his posts/replies on the LFG. I'm not sure if those are tracked under "My topics" or "My replies" on your personal profile. I think they don't necessarily appear there. Far as I know, best ways to find your LFG post if you already deleted the Notification, you might need to search in LFG and find that game offer again. Do you recall the type of game or terms that you originally searched for finding that LFG offer? For future advice, Bookmark (using your browser) the LFG threads / game pitches that you post in, so you can find them later. If this is incorrect someone please post a correction. P.S. I am double-checking with the Dev & Mod Team to make sure I'm describing this in the right way.
I think Gold has the right idea. Thanks for your input Gold, and thanks so much Ziechael for giving this issue lots of attention.

Like Rich, I'd also been wondering why i can't find my posts, sad to hear it's not saved when done in LFG. Especially since I wanted to read if any of the DM had made a reply in any of the campaigns i applied to, unfortuantely the one i did not bookmark seem to have gone missing from LFG, so since i don't have any pms i'd assume they got a working group now and I'm not part of it. Would just be really sad the day a player is in but never gets the message. Anyway I like the idea of this side but I gotta say i'm a little disappointed in it's users so far, it's great to take time to put together a great adventure, but it's downright disappointing how many posts never recieve a reply, not even a sorry we're full.

Good points. Let me add this to make sure you know. If you post an application in LFG system on someone's game offer... If anyone replies in the thread you posted, you will get a Notification at the top-right of Roll20 (the pink drop-down). The GM also can reply with a special link called the Invitation to Join Game. Once you're invited to a game and you click the Join link, from then on you will start receiving Notifications for posts in that game's forum (not its LFG forum, but the actual campaign forum). Once you clicked to read or delete the Notification though, that Notification link might go away. So you want to be ready to read the post and respond, or at least keep the thread open for later or bookmark it, if you click the Notification link. Martin , unfortunately, if the GM does not respond to your post in the LFG, and the GM closes the LFG, you won't get any notice or reply. If that happens then it's time to move-on and apply for a different game. The reason is, the GM responds to the people they are accepting/inviting into the game. Yes I agree it would be nice if the GM would reply "sorry we are full" to the posts that didn't make the cut. Some do. The reality is, often GM is faced with 10-50 applications or more, for maybe 5 spots. The GM is focused on getting their game going (which takes work, preparation, attention). They may not have time to focus on answering everyone who they didn't choose to invite into the game. GM becomes busy dialoging with players who are in the game, about making the characters, setting up the rules, agreeing on play-times, and so on. I think my advice would be, stick to it! Keep trying and applying. Make your application/introduction post as good as it can be, to be appealing to the GM. It might help to encourage a reply if you specifically write in your post "Please reply to let me know either way" or even "If this is not accepted please tell me how to make my application better for next time" or ask them "What are you looking for in a Player?". Also just don't take it badly if they don't reply, since the GM is probably overwhelmed with applications. There is actually a very good community on this site, so I hope you find a game soon and start to enjoy the fellow users.
Thanks again.

Yeah thanks gold. I think the way forward is the way some DM/GM have done it with making 1 thread where everyone write their application that way the dm can send pms to the people he want and then close up with a rather few posts in that same thread. I agree with you gold that it is all about making you sound interesting in your first post, same as in job applications, I am however not a fan of giving people extra high expectations, I in general prefer being postively surprised than negatively surprised. (Boasting to much tend towards the later)
