So the first session where we tried out the modified Chrome & Punks (a hack of Lasers & Feelings) went fairly well. Aside from some quibbles with initiative, the rest of the system seemed pretty solid and combat was quick and deadly--as I had wanted it to be. On to the story... Jacob "Killeroo" Jacobson took a job for a local fixer named Jazz who needed some muscle for a time sensitive run involving a personal friend of hers. The friend, a netrunner named Glitch, had been raiding a corp network with two other netrunners when their actions attracted the attention of NetWatch. The Watch blasted Glitch with a series of programs that caused a bizarre reaction; her cyberdeck was practically fried and her body thrown into a comatose state. Despite this, however, Glitch's avatar and consciousness became trapped on the matrix, unable to log back out. The hybrid Killeroo, Doc the re-programmed android and Barret the drone rigger set out to investigate Glitch's apartment and search for the other two netrunners. They found the apartment had been broken into and tossed. According to a neighbor, a group of 'suits' had come poking around the night before and left in a hurry. Prior to that, two men were seen dragging the seemingly 'drunk' body of a woman. After tracking down and consulting a local netrunner known as Sharkey, the team was able to track down a physical location to one of the two netrunners who were with Glitch at the time of the run. They discovered that a group of enhanced corporate suits were already in the process of interrogating the two netrunners in a fancy hotel in the heart of the city. The team busted into the suite and successfully managed to take out the four suits, but not without Doc getting busted to pieces. Salvaging the downed med-tech android and securing one of the two netrunners, Killeroo escaped the hotel relatively unscathed and proceeded to begin his own interrogation of the netrunner Lord Zhaal. Zhaal caved in immediately and admitted having taken the paydata from Glitch's cybernetic brain. He and his partner had uploaded the paydata back to the corp that had hired them for the run and split Glitch's take amongst themselves. As for glitch? Being as she was comatose, Zhaal and his partner decided to sell her body to a local simsense prostitution ring leader by the name of Voodoo. The session ended with the team trying to figure out how they would proceed to retrieve Glitch body before she's made into one of Voodoo's zombie simsense prostitutes. Time is running out.
