Experienced pen & paper role player looking for some information.

Hi Guys, I used to play loads of RP (exalted, dnd, masquerade, white wolf stuff etc) Just looking for some info about Roll20. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmtnO9xlf-E&list=UUDWRGUs_jy1nESYT-BlnP8A&index=2&feature=plcp Is the above video typical, and do most people use this CB Loader for their characters? I realise this is quite a vague question, but I never even realised something like this existed. This is also one of the first times ever I've posted on any type of forum, so I apologise if this is in the wrong place or something. Any info or links that can be provided would be much appreciated. Neil

Those who are using a 3rd-party Character Builder would be folks who are playing a large enough game system that has one already built like D&D, White Wolf, etc. I wouldn't be surprised that there's fan-built applications out there on the web too. Roll20's goal is to be as open of a table system as possible in the hopes of allowing as many different RPGs and board games to be played on it. Its character sheet mechanics (which we're still currently working on) will most likely be sub par in comparison to a robust Character Builder built for a specific game system in mind.
Thanks for the reply and for the information. So please excuse my density, Roll20 is pretty much a medium for playing any type of role playing game you want. Some, but not all of it's features can be used in order to do this e.g. CB Loader. Is the Roll20 character sheet anywhere near completion? (just out of interest) Perhaps an FAQ page for complete Roll20 noobs such as myself (couldn't find one), or even better a video with someone explaining. Once again thanks for the information, but if anyone else wants to add anything else please feel free. Neil
Just to emphasize my noobness even more, I've just realised that I got to Roll20 directly to the forums and didn't see the homepage, which has loads of info that I was after.
On further investigation I know realise how incredibly amazing Roll20 is and I can't wait to start creating content and joining games myself. Many thanks to the creators of the site.
Hehe, I'm glad that you've found you're way around. Let us know if you have more questions. And, just so that we don't leave your previous questions hanging too much: Is the Roll20 character sheet anywhere near completion? (just out of interest) No. Roll20 is pretty much a medium for playing any type of role playing game you want. Yes, Roll20 is a virtual tabletop; an application meant to recreate many of the aspects required to play RPGs in real-life Perhaps an FAQ page for complete Roll20 noobs such as myself (couldn't find one), or even better a video with someone explaining. Help documentation, as well as videos, are available here.
Nice one, glad to see a community that doesn't flame people for not knowing stuff. Thanks again.
