Add to your calendar: Tuesday Tuesday July 21, and July 28, usual start time 2:05PM Central USA Time converted for your Time Zone is listed on the campaign details main page. RSVP Regrets Only: Post here if you will be unable to attend. Attendance notes for July 21: Gray won't be able to attend July 21 session (road trip reasons). Hans said: On the july 21 session, I will be at home alone with my son so my attendance will be as good as he allows. Usually he'll sleep for the first couple hours but I can't guarantee anything. Discussion about session the week of August 4: Roll Call who can play instead on Monday August 3? Foreseeing a travel conflict Tuesday August 4, it would be best for me to reschedule in advance for that session. Who would be able to play instead on MONDAY AUGUST 3 at the usual game times? This would be a one-time reschedule, not a permanent shift. Roll Call for those who can play on a Monday, August 3, at the usual time. Please Reply in the thread, saying if you can or can't.
I am A-OK for August 3rd according to my calendar. July 28th will also be my 49th birthday! September 1st I can play and then leave for Dragoncon at the end of the session. September 8th I can stay an extra day in a hotel after Dragoncon and rest up some more. September 15th will also be a play-then-leave for Austin, where I will be flagging the Lone Star LeMans at the Circuit of the Americas.
Aug 3 should be fine for me. In general, once I get back to the States in about ten days, I'm going to have to see how things go with the time difference. I should be ok to play in general, but I'm not sure, especially as the kids will be out of school during August.
When do you people sleep? I will probably be OK to play August 3rd as well.
I'm good to play on the 3rd as well.
August 3rd reserved on my calendar for D&D. So I'm definetly game.
Happy Birthday, Larry btw ... I am on the 31st myself ... I feel like you have done a lot more in your 49 years than I have in my 42, but maybe that's just my midlife crisis speaking ; )
Hey Gray I had my midlife crisis around age 24. I was one of those boy-genius types you hear about in fiction so I only had a very brief childhood & started very early professionally. Don't envy me anything, believe me, and the list of what I have done sounds a lot more impressive than it actually is. :) Most of the time these days I spend bumping into things, cluelessly. You all are a lot better off having steady work, reliable people, and family in your lives.
Grass is always greener... Such different backgrounds, yet here we all are,.playing together :-) that's kind of beautiful right?
Gray, you are moving to the USA, am I right? Do you have an address we can send things to, yet?
"Most of the time these days I spend bumping into things, cluelessly." LOL that pretty much describes my life perfectly too. Yes, I am moving to the USA -- which is my normal permanent home, I had just moved back to my native N. Ireland for a bit. I'll PM you my address, I'm always happy to receive stuff ...! Hans, the G+ question was just so that we could link up there if people were using it. I've found it a great resource for RPG stuff. Right, I'm off to Scotland with my boys for a few days, then to the US in a week's time. Have a great session this week, and I'll see you all on the other side ...

Announcements relevant to July 21 Notice: Game on tomorrow / Tuesday, usual times expected. There are some possible conflicts this week, I want Players to be aware. PREFACE: If anything happens (this week or any week) please stick with me and we will communicate and resume as soon as possible. If you ever see a Game Day where you expect me and I don't show up (this has Never happened before), please initially assume that I've had a sudden work or family obligation come up. I would always inform you first if at-all-possible. In this very thread. If I ever suddenly missed session without informing you in advance, give it a couple days and then expect me to check in. After a couple days, email/skype me at that point, if I ever become that much overdue for a campaign check-in. Heads Up #1, personal. There has been a personal family priority in my life, happening this week & may persist for several weeks or months going forward. Family member in hospital. I'm someone who prefers to maintain family privacy and not write my personal happenings here on the game forum, but enough to let you know something is up. It is possible to take me away from Roll20, if I am needed to help with personal/family in my local life. And I know 100% that everyone in the group is understanding towards this. That's probably all I want to say about that. And I may delete those paragraphs later, just to keep our game-board on-topic and remove a lingering reminder of a difficult time. I don't enjoy interjecting the hard times of real life into our fantasy campaign place. Please do this: The best way the group can support me is to stay & keep playing the game, maintain a positive atmosphere, and develop our epic fantasy saga. It's a boon to my attitude and a relief to my mind. Your mid-week postings are welcome points of light for me to check-in when I'm able. A limited Player response like "We are thinking about you and yours" is ok and would be welcomed because I know you all care about me. Something like that would not be too personal or invasive. "Understood and good to go" is also a welcomed tone. Beyond that kind of small statement, Please Don't bring this up in the session or ask me for any details about what's going-on outside the game unless I raise the topic and choose to divulge, especially on game-day or in the forums. The best thing our Roll20 D&D campaign can offer me is a welcome break and relief from daily pressures, a trip to our fantasy world to relax and play a game, and have fun with my online friends. Not to think about RL for a couple hours each week. We've made friends with each other, so I feel that you want to express supporting me, just remember that the best support for me you all can offer is continue creating good-times in-game-world with your words, ideas, art, journals, characters. Heads Up #2, website downtime before our game time this week. Conflict 2 is Roll20 major-upgrading on Tuesday July 21, upgrade cycle codenamed: "Interface Initiative", it will change the visual appearance & colors of the website. Roll20 is scheduled to be offline for redesign upgrades on Tuesday morning, July 21, our exact game day. The timing of the upgrade is scheduled to last 2 hours, scheduled to be completed and end 3 hours before our game's regular Start Time. They gave us a 3-hour buffer. Consequently, 2 things: Best case, log in to Roll20 within 1 hour before game time, and you will see a new Roll20 Webpage Design, everything working. Worst case, if Roll20 is late or buggy with the upgrade, perhaps Roll20 could be offline at our game time. In the worst event, if Roll20 is offline, please keep re-loading Roll20 every 15 minutes until it comes back. Something to keep in mind. I think we'll get to play tomorrow and all this will blow over soon. Kenku Physician Pic: Enjoy this picture of a historical Kenku that comes up if you search for "Plague Doctor" on Google Images. Maybe Gray or Larry can research and find out why Plague Doctors wore a Kenku mask (?).
Pretty grisly really; it was the closest that the time period had to gas masks. There was a suspicion (this was before germ theory) that plague was caused by "malevolent gasses" or "miasma." The plague doctor mask symbolically looked like a crow, and was recognizable from far enough away that people would make a wide berth around them, but its design also served a very practical reason: the "beak" was filled with herbs and oils to overcome the stench of decomposing bodies, and of the dying.
Gold -- thinking about you and wishing you all the best. Totally understand what you're saying. Gold and Larry -- that's a great picture of the plague doctor, I knew about the miasma but not about the crow masks.
Heads up: not sure if I'll be able to attend tuesday. Sh*t hit the fan in a major way at home and there's a good chance I'll be missing the next session. I will let you know which way it swings as soon as I know myself.
99% sure that I'll attend today to celebrate Larry's birthday :)
AWWWWWW! It just would not be the same without you!  And thank you!
A friend of mine (who is 88 years old!) knew I was playing a nobleman in this game.  He sent me this picture with the words, "Oh look.  One of the peasants is having a birthday."
Hey everyone. My body is now in California, although my soul is still somewhere mid-Atlantic. Just arrived Sunday night. Hopefully will be able to attend for some of the session but not sure when/if right now. Sorry for short notice but I barely know what month it is right now, let alone what day ... Totally jetlagged and very busy ....
Gray, O Gray, will you be here today? Will the miles take their due, and keep you away? Will the wind catch your wings, and take you astray? Or will you log in, and join us to play?

Playing MONDAY next week instead of Tuesday. Important: Notice!  Next week we are playing on MONDAY AUGUST 3, at the usual time.   After that we will get back to regular Tuesday schedule. Please respond and RSVP in the Scheduling Thread if you decide you can/can't play next Monday. Most Players will be here.
I'm hoping to be there, but as usual there's a "but." Gametime will now be noon for me, which is going to be a bit tough as it's the school vacation and my kids are not in camp for a couple of weeks. Also, the wife just had surgery. So it kind of depends on a lot of factors outside of my control. Sorry to be like this. Going forward, the kids will be in camp later in the month, and then back at school. Whether or not noon to 3pm is going to be a viable longterm time for me to game, we shall just have to see, but in the short to medium term, I hope it will work.

Cool, Gray. We want you to play any of the times you can. Like the famous motto, "Seize the medium term".
Okay so just to make sure I have not misunderstood, game time is Monday August 3rd at 2PM CST USA? Also, Gray, the USA is a land of horror movies, so if your kids are going to camp, send them with their own hockey masks and machetes.

Larry D. said: Okay so just to make sure I have not misunderstood, game time is Monday August 3rd at 2PM CST USA? This is accurate! Set your alarm, game time is coming up in... 12 hours or so. Note: There should be a countdown timer on the Campaign Details page. The time Larry stated is on-point.
Game time baby! Expect me to be a little cranky tonight cause I have to run run run to make it and am extremely tired already :) I will try to write a journal during my work's lunch break. So unfortunately, still no bow drawing!

Game time countdown: 1 hour 10 minutes... that's 7 Turns. Hope to see Players today for a rare Monday session! Yawning yet? There will be high action, new NPC's, the Bullywug tribes, and RP + political developments.
